  • Sakable Offence | Planet FPL S. 7 Ep. 35 | GW24 Review | Fantasy Premier League

    12/02/2024 Duración: 01h35min

Suj and James review the 9 weekend games played in GW24 and for both Arsenal's 6-0 victory against West Ham meant it was a bad FPL week as Gunners assets returned well with Gabriel benched and in James' case Bukayo Saka sold! But it was of course it was Suj's team that suffered a record home league defeat. Captaining Erling Haaland at least brought some relief, but City did struggle to break down a resolute Everton. City assets are obviously on radar as are those who also double at Brentford, Liverpool and Luton and final decisions ahead of the double may well be impacted by the status of Trent Alexander-Arnold's fitness. There's tactical insight into Arsenal's stunning victory, Kieran Trippier's role change for Newcastle at Forest that freed up Bruno Guimaraes, how Brighton's man to man game at Tottenham had success but ultimately cost them the game in which a returning player from International duty hugely impressed James. Plus, conversation on all the games including Manchester United's crucial win at Asto

Suj and James discuss all the latest for Sky Fantasy Football including the impact of Monday's announcement of the March TV fixtures and there weren't any huge shocks in the announcement that mean longer-term planning can begin with the caveat of understanding that FA Cup results and a potential Bournemouth v Luton announcement may mean plans needs to change. There's discussion on learnings from the last week including concern about Tottenham defensive players, captaincy for the weekend ahead, why some big template players should be sold in the near future, Everton's sudden appeal and if Mo Salah, if available should be forced straight back in. Clayton joins James for a discussion on the lack of spending in the January transfer window and ask if this is a one off caused by fear of failing Profit and Sustainability Reporting or of it's the start of a new trend for spending within the Premier League. Did Everton's points deduction cause fear throughout the league to curb spending and show that FFP/PSR really did have teeth? There's talk of clever accounting, why some transfers may be done differently, the importance of home grown players and if this new era of spending sustainability might end as quickly as it starts? • Cunha Believe it? | Planet FPL S. 7 Ep. 34 | GW23 Review | Fantasy Premier League

    05/02/2024 Duración: 01h40min

It was a weekend with lots of goals in the Premier League and that meant some big swings for FPL managers in GW23 as Richarlison and Ollie Watkins returned big and there were also big hauls for attacking enablers such as Alejandro Garnacho and Matheus Cunha, but find defensive returns was far more difficult. All the games reviewed including Tottenham's draw at Everton, Villa's thumping win at Sheffield United, Manchester United's comfortable victory against West Ham and Arsenal won the big one, and deservedly so, against Liverpool. And despite defeat Liverpool assets appeal now that we know their fixture against Luton Town has finally been announced for DGW25. But their opponents Luton also have several excellent options and were involved in a thrilling 4-4 draw at Newcastle. There are eyes on how to manipulate the upcoming blanks and doubles, thoughts on Man City assets ahead of tonight's trip to Brentford and there are a couple of Premier League managers now under big pressure... and they meet at Selhurst P

  • Mum Always Told Me | Planet FPL S. 7 Ep. 33 | GW22 Review | Fantasy Premier League

    02/02/2024 Duración: 01h19min

With less than 24 hours to go before the GW23 Deadline Suj and James discuss all the games from Gameweek 22 and the hours that built up to it that included late transfers and late captaincy changes. There was plenty of drama to discuss as Newcastle became the first to win at Villa this season, Luton gave Brighton a hiding, Tottenham got into trouble but rectified it against Brentford and Manchester United won a 7 goal thriller at Wolves. While there were wins for the 3 title challengers and with Arsenal facing Liverpool this weekend it means interest in Manchester City, with their double in Gameweek 25 to come, particularly high. Should those who haven't bought Erling Haaland do so now or is it a case of waiting another week? And what of Liverpool's possible Gameweek 25 double, should we now be of the thinking that it won't happen? Suj and James review the second weekend of GW21 as Arsenal and Liverpool both won handsomely, Ivan Toney returned and scored, there was controversy at Bramall Lane as The Blades drew 2-2 with West Ham and Brighton v Wolves ended goalless last night. It was a weekend where those captaining Bukayo Saka were out of luck despite The Gunners 5-0 victory and those with Liverpool attackers Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota did well, and just think had Suj actually not missed the deadline he would have captained that Jota haul! How does he feel about it now? It's been an eventful period for Forest with Steve Cooper departing and replaced by Nuno Espirito Santo and there was immediate upturn in results, but now the threat of a points deduction is very real having fallen foul of the PSR. There's discussion on what a big deduction would mean for Forest and who's to blame for the situation they have found themselves in. Are Villa still in contention for the title? And would it now be a disappointment if they didn't finish in the top 4? Villa's excellent record this season evokes memories in Newcastle's outstanding campaign last season. But Eddie Howe's side could find themselves in the bottom half before they travel to Villa. Are injuries the obvious explanation for a run of 6 defeats in 7 or is the manager's position under threat? There's FPL discussion, including the prospects of captaining a Villa or Newcastle player in GW23, whether the likes of Ollie Watkins and Kieran Trippier should be held longer-term despite many FPL managers requiring funds for multiple premium assets and there's also discussion on the likes of Alex Moreno and Anthony Gordon.
