  • Ep 21: A Dirty Word, with Steph Auteri

    17/08/2018 Duración: 43min

Well, well. Steph and I had a great time recording this one! She was gracious enough to send me a galley of her book "A Dirty Word" to read, and boy do we get into some serious topics. Ranging from body and soul, to pathologizing women's sexuality, to non-consensual, coercive sex, to the lack of desire or orgasms, to making family members super awkward, we cover it all! In the name of helping us all be more comfortable with the uncomfortable, and hopefully paving the way to a better sex ed system, and a healthier and safer sex-positive future. We are not broken, nor deficient. We are all in this together. For more on Steph and her amazing list of resources: www.stephauteri.com Don't forget to pre-order her book! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/runningwildwithchristine/support

  • Ep 20: The One With The Married One, with Sophie

    10/08/2018 Duración: 46min

Hello lovers! We are back!! Let me introduce you to one of my oldest and dearest friends, Sophie. She's a Human Rights professional, a intelligent, purposeful feminist and a kick-ass wife. She and I take twists and turns trying to redefine relationships, communication channels, values and self-confidence for ourselves. What does a contemporary feminist marriage look like for her today? What do her and I have in common? What can we do to set ourselves free of society's pretty little boxes and live without the weight of labels? Tune in for more. (Also, sorry about the rambling at some point, we had to do this one twice due to equipment failure. Humans are imperfect, we did our best! Also thankfully Sophie got us back on topic!) --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/runningwildwithchristine/support

  • Ep 19: "Uh oh, Sadness!" with Devon S.

    27/07/2018 Duración: 55min

OK! Disclaimer: suicide and depression discussed in depth. My lovely friend Devon S. was gracious enough to let me into his head, his battle against depression and our common difficulty staying on topic. We do go down a few rabbit holes: Are creatives more prone to depression? Why can’t people just listen? How are European universities free? But in between random celebrity and film trivia, Devon tells me about his experience calling a Suicide Hotline. Anyhow: this is a good episode if you want to know more about what it might feel like to be depressed and how to potentially speak to a loved one who might be/is depressed. • Ep 18 : “Are We Not Men?” with James Gates

    20/07/2018 Duración: 45min

James Gates, writer for Culture Trip, and I discuss today’s topic: Toxic Masculinity. After reading “The Descent of Man” by Grayson Perry (https://buff.ly/2L1HhDI), James had a pivotal moment of understanding his own consciousness of gender stereotypes. The book is a great read, but according to James, recognising how detrimental to society as a whole it is, creating awareness is not enough. Creating dialogues about toxic masculinity is where it needs to start. Therefore, we go into our individual experiences, into the toxicity of labels and the changes we try to make every day. Most importantly, we address the reality that change is hard. Challenging norms is hard work and vulnerability really should become the basis of human interactions. • Ep 17: "Where's your Feminist T?", with Adam Lannon

    13/07/2018 Duración: 45min

Adam Lannon and I discuss his experience being a feminist from a male perspective, in a Post-Me Too world. We talk about meeting at the Cannes Film Festival, the changes we've seen, and most importantly the differences we can make as individuals. Part of the problem with this challenging topic is that it’s really hard to speak about it. Whatever we say will be wrong for somebody. So indulge us. We really did our best, from our limited individual experiences. To know more about Adam, you can find him on Insta @iamadamlannon, on twitter @adamlannon and here https://buff.ly/2KNbCXg Please rate, review and subscribe! Shout outs to: Frank Mannion! • Ep 16 : The One about (The Fear of) Commitment, with Léa

    06/07/2018 Duración: 48min

Welcome back to #RWWC! Today, you meet Léa, one of the women behind femmedufutur.wordpress.com Through her blog, she advocates for a whole new brand of feminism, open conversations with a healthy dose of self-awareness and doing whatever the f*$k you want in the end! Dudes, this is an episode that you will like, because we are genders at peace! Enough pitting people against people: let's love and support each other. Léa is a kick-ass French friend of mine, who, like me, has been a single gal in her twenties for a little while.. and so naturally we decided to talk about Commitment! Woop! There's so much to say about this feared topic and we must never ignore the systemic factors of individualism and cultural background, gender implications and relationship expectations. Yet again, communication and consciousness are the tools we need. It's not easy, but it's so evident: become aware of what you want and need, and make compromises! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/runningwildwithchristine/suppo

If you are struggling, we see you, we love you and we need you. If you are not able to reach out, we will.
