Little is known of Justus (Jesus) but Epaphras was centeral to the saints at Colosse, Laodices, and Hierapolis. These congregations lay heavy on the heart of Epaphras in that he labored fervently in prayer for them to stand (abide) perfect and complete in all the will of God. Sadly, too many today are lacking in their understanding of the will of God.

In our continued study of some of the names of God from the Old Testament, we will now consider God as Jehovah-Nissi—The Lord My Banner.

Barnabas was a good and generous man that was used mightily in the kingdom of God and, yet some of the most faithful men sometimes err. May we all take heed how we stand lest we fall.

Thankfully, the apostle Paul did not have to travel or suffer in prison alone. He had companions to encourage him and to help him in spreading the gospel of God.

As we continue to study of some of the names of God from the Old Testament, today we will consider God as Jehovah-Mekoddishkem—The Lord Who Sanctifies You.

Thankfully while Paul was in jail waiting to appear before Nero, he was surrounded with fellow believers and laborers in the kingdom. It was a tremendous blessing that a servant (slave) was converted and recognized as faithful and a beloved brother to the great apostle Paul.

Tychicus was a minister used of the Lord much in the life of Paul. No higher compliment can be given to a minister than that given to Tychicus--a faithful minister. He was also used of the Lord to comfort the hearts of the saints at Colosse.

In continuing our study of some of the names of God from the Old Testament, we will consider today God as Jehovah-Jireh—The Lord Will Provide.

We should remember that each person that we meet is an encounter by the providence of the Lord and our liftstyle and conversation should we conducted with wisdom and a godliness.

Not only are we to pray continually but tragedy and trials in the lives of others should encorage us to have a spirit of prayer.

In continuing our study of some of the names of God from the Old Testament, we will consider today God as Jehovah-Gibbor— The Lord Mighty in Battle.

Theree are often unjustices in life regardless if one is a wife, husband, child, parent, servant, or master. All injustices (as well as just services) will be acknowledged and receive their proper evaluation at the judgment. The believer will receive his at the judgment seat of Christ and the unbeliever at the great white throne judgment. The important thing is that regardless of our place of service we must be faithful as the Lord would have us to live.

This subject is one of a most sensitive matter in the day in which we live; however, we cannot ignore the plain teaching of the Holy Scriptures of the Lord. I realize that the majority of society have been so indoctrinated that they are totally prejudiced concerning what the Bible says. Everyone is a servant or slave to something or someone.

This is a continuation of our study regarding some of the names of God from the Old Testament. Today we will consider God as Jehovah-El Elyon—The Most High God.

The purpose of the Lord's Supper is to show the Lord's death. Sadly, it is presented as a mystical experience whereby some special blessing or esoteric feeling from the Lord. The Lord's Supper is simply an ordinance showing the truth of the death of Christ which is salvation is totally by the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ died to save those whom the Father gave Him. To teach anything else is not reflective of the Lord's Supper.

It is evident in society today that children as a whole have no respect for their parents. This appears to be another sign of the judgment of God on our nation today.

This is a continuation of our study regarding some of the names of God from the Old Testament. Today we will consider God as JEHOVAH.

While wives portray the authority in the home, it is the responsibility of the husbands to instill love. Equally, the husband is commanded not to be bitter or picky of the wife.

The authority and structure in society is foundational in the home. The idea of submission to authority is lost in our culture today and is evident by the chaos, confusion, disorder, and pandemonium that is overflowing in every circle.

Today we are continuing our study regarding some of the names of God from the Old Testament. Today we will consider God as El Olam, the Everlasting God.
