    Today’s show featuring Dr Kirk Wilson and a passionate Chinese Herbal Medicine Practitioner. Kirk is a graduate from both the University of Technology, Sydney and the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is a highly skilled and experienced acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine practitioner. We chatted about anxiety, depression and some interesting studies into alternative treatments which Kirk completed his PHD on. These studies showed 87% remission rate and an average reduction in symptom severity of 55%. These are some absolutely amazing statistics. Throughout our conversation today we chatted about all of this and more. Kirk is a listener of the podcast and reached out to me to share his story and I’m grateful that he did as the conversation was very rich. In fact he was a trainer for the original Gladiators TV show back in the original series where his job was get to the Gladiators themselves ready for the show. They’re athletes but truth is no-one looks good in a one piece grey lycra so Chief had to do what he could to improve that situation and look after the viewing audiences optical nerves in the process.     This week we’re again on the Melbourne March of guests. I had the good fortune of setting down with Danny Kennedy. Danny is a fellow podcaster who hosts his own show The Fitness and Lifestyle Podcast which was recently featured in the No.1 spot for itunes health and fitness podcasts. A HUGE effort. On top of that Danny is a former professional athlete, a fitness competitor with a crazy rig on him and easily had the best hair in the room during this podcast (check back on my Instagram for the comparison). I was a very distant second. But more than that I found Danny to be shit hot bloke. No BS. Knowledgeable and someone I needed more time with (there’s a story there). I got a bit lost, or at least my uber driver did and I arrived 15 minutes late for the recording. Danny had managed to squeeze me into a tight window so my late arrival really pushed us for time.     Whilst in Melbourne recently I went out of my way to record as much content as possible for the show. This week I sat down with Travis Jones who is a fitness entrepreneur. Personally I’m not a massive fan of the word entrepreneur because everyone calls themselves one these days. Gary Vee has made it popular to be an entrepreneur. Just search entrepreneur into your podcast topic search and see how many shows are aimed at that area. BUT – Travis is a true entrepreneur. He founds and runs RBT – Results Based Training – that’s his core business but he also runs a digital marketing company and in fact that’s how I first stumbled across him. A few years back when I was still in Toowoomba and owned my gym I saw Travis pop up everywhere teaching people how to market their fitness businesses. I actually thought about taking him on as my coach but then my business sold so I never did take that step.     A few weeks back I was flicking around the internet which I tend to do always looking at motivational, inspirational content – particularly video because I like to consume them in the mornings before I kick into my day and whilst doing so someone in my social media network shared a video from Beau Miles where he ran 3 miles to start and then 1 mile every hour on the hour for 24 hours. In between laps around his block, exactly one mile, he worked his way through a list of odd jobs from playing scrabble to building a table and everything in between. The video was called A MILE AN HOUR and it’s fantastic. I just loved it and reached out to connect. It turns out Beau is from Melbourne and actually teaches at Monash University so I dropped into the University when I was in Melbourne and we recorded this episode.
