Have we been sold Jesus? We all know John 3:16, but is belief all that Jesus really asks of us? As we look at scripture, we find that Jesus wants more than just believers; more than just fans. He wants believers who are willing to follow Him even when it gets tough. The church should be all about following Jesus, but are we willing to follow?

What are some of the things that help create healthy community? As we look at Jesus and the communities that he created around himself we see some common themes that we would be wise to take and replicate in our own communities. Four things that Jesus did to help create healthy communities are... 1.) Jesus was always inclusive, never exclusive. Jesus accepted everyone. 2.) Jesus always showed grace. 3.) Jesus lived life together with his closest community. 4.) Jesus shared successes and failures with his closest community so they could learn and love one another.

What does being great look like? How much time and energy do we spend trying to become or appear great? As we continue to examine what the church should look like, we look at how Jesus defines greatness.

This past Sunday morning talked about how anything in life worth going after, desiring, is going to take desire, hard work, sacrifice and hope. Everything from the desire to get a car, go to college, to walking with Jesus Christ is going to take all of these things. If we're not willing to put in the hard work and sacrifice then we must not really want what's on the other side. If we desire Christ are we willing to put in the hard work and sacrifice that's needed?

Where did we get the idea of church in the first place? When it comes to church, what is most important to God? As we look at scripture, we find that our modern idea of church doesn't look too much like what Jesus had in mind.

We've learned that change is a fact of life and that God uses change to grow our faith in him. However, how do we usually respond to change? What does that tell us about our hearts? Are you discontent with where you life is right now? What does that say about what you believe about God?

It sometimes seems like life is one point of transition to another. Even in science, transition points prove to be "turbulent" as they shake us around. Is there any way to avoid change in our lives? Where is God when everything is out of control?

As we wrap up the series, we take a last look at why specific guardrails are so important. Life is made up of millions of little decisions and when we make little compromises, it can lead to big consequences.

In looking at guardrails, we have seen the emphasis Paul puts on walking wisely and making the most of our time. When it comes to how we use our time, are we ever wasteful with how we use our time? Can that get us in trouble? What guardrails might we need in the area of time management?

What does Jesus have to say about divorce? Is this the way that we treat and deal with divorce? When it comes to life Jesus always points us to look deeper and in the case of divorce it's no different.

What does the Bible have to say about lust? What does Jesus say about lust? In Matthew 5:27-30 Jesus offers a new way of how to deal with sin and temptation especially in the area of adultery and lust.

If there is any area in life where we absolutely need guardrails, it's in the area of sexual purity. Paul tells the church in Corinth that sexual sin is a sin against our own bodies and that we should flee any and all sexual immorality. What kind of guardrails do we need in this crucial area of life?

What does the Bible have to say about lying and making promises? What does Jesus say about lying and promises? How does God desire that we would communicate with others? In Matthew 5:33-37 Jesus offers a new way of communicating with those around us, which is much different than what's normal.

It's a simple fact of life that our friends influence the direction and quality of our lives. The influence of our friends can be both beneficial and dangerous. In Proverbs we find that even hanging around a foolish person has serious consequences. Given the power our friends over us, what guardrails do we need to guard against negative influences?

What does the Bible have to say about anger? What does Jesus say about anger? How should we appropriately deal with anger? In Matthew chapter 5:21-26 Jesus offers a new way of thinking and how to deal with the anger in our lives.

What is the point of guardrails? Why are they so important? Do we really appreciate them? In this new series we discover the importance of guardrails on our roads and in our lives.
