Who Goes There Podcast: Ep 223 – NIGHT OF THE VIRGIN
03/08/2019 Duración: 01h11minYo, do not miss this episode! We’d heard a lot about 2016’s horror/dark comedy Night of the Virgin, “it’s fucked up!”, “it’s so gory!”, “a must watch!” Well, we all know how everyone is wrong except for us, so we decided to check it out for ourselves. (Review starts at 32:20) This episode gets just as bat-shit crazy as the movie does. In fact, there’s about 30 minutes of insanity that we had to cut out, but luckily you can check it out if you sign up for our Patreon! As always, we’re running down the latest horror news including something really cool about Killer Klowns From Outer Space, and a new film interpretation of Tomie! If that’s not enough to tickle your pickle, we also give our thoughts on Stranger Things season 3, Tone Deaf, Deadtectives, Clarita and Once Upon a Time In Hollywood. Come get you some, dorks! What are you, some kind of a Swede? You’re talking to me in Swedish in Times Square! It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 223! If you enjoy the show, please consider joining ou

Who Goes There Podcast: Ep 222 – LUZ
29/07/2019 Duración: 01h15minHola, dorks, and welcome to another episode of the Who Goes There Podcast! Comic Con 2019 has finally come and gone, and we’ve all become a little more bitter and cynical. This week we’re discussing 2019’s Luz, a paranormal, demon, mind fucky film. (Review starts at 32:18) This film mostly flew under our radars until it was released in mid-July, and since there are no major studio films being released this week, here we are. We’ll also be running down some of the cool shit from Comic Con, as well as the movies we’ve seen recently. (Including: The Thing: Confessions of a Teenage Placenta, Island of the Fishmen, and Dead Sight. They call me Dick, but you can call me… Dick. It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 222! Who Goes There Podcast: Ep 221 – CRAWL
21/07/2019 Duración: 01h01minAhoy there, dorks! Welcome to another episode of Semi-Professional Podcast Reviewer Theater! We may not be the only podcast full of braindead bros who don’t know shit about movies and add nothing to the discussion, but we’re the only one on Dread Central! This week, we’re heading down to Florida to chill with some gators and laugh about how idiots are getting eaten. No, we’re not talking about beefy boys on bath salts, we’re talking about 2019’s Crawl. (Review at 23:48) If that’s not enough to tickle your fancy, we’re also running down the biggest news events of the last week! That’s not all! If you act now you’ll also get, us making lots of crude jokes, us laughing too hard at those jokes. All while inflating our fragile egos and not actually contributing anything of any value to the discussion of this film, or cinema in general. Check it out! I like a dog-faced monkey that has an appreciation for expensive sports cars. I like the Who Goes There Podcast episode 221! If you enjoy the show, ple

Who Goes There Podcast: Ep 220 – MIDSOMMAR
15/07/2019 Duración: 01h36minRejoice, ya dorks, for summer is finally here! The time has come for rockets red glare, summer loving, bonfires and bar-b-ques. Just like every hot dog is bound to split its bun, every A24 film is bound to split the horror community. Well, it is my job to inform you, the split has happened again. The latest release from “elevated horror” juggernaut A24 is Midsommar, Ari Aster’s follow up to 2018’s Hereditary. (Review starts at 30:11) As you would imagine, the highly anticipated release has the horror community split right down the center, and the Who Goes There Podcast is no exception. This week we’re joined by Patreon haomie, and author of I’m Not Even Supposed to Be Here Today Brian Asman to dissect this film like a big ole’ grizzly bear! Is Midsommar the atmospheric nightmare it claims to be, or is it just a holiday in the sun? Who loved it? Did anyone hate it? What are the odds that Matt didn’t understand what went on? Tune in to find out, dummy! These people just have a stoned look on the

Who Goes There Podcast: Ep219 – ARACHNOPHOBIA
06/07/2019 Duración: 01h12minAre you aware of the fact that there are a group of people out there who are afraid of pasta?! Yessir, the fear of pasta is a completely real thing and it’s called Zymarikaphobia. I know what you’re thinking, and I completely agree with you, it’s stupid. You know what fear is not stupid? The fear of spiders is not stupid. As a matter of fact, the fear of spiders is so incredibly not stupid that Hollywood made a movie about it! This week on the Who Goes There Podcast we will wax poetic about 1990’s Arachnophobia, the story of one spider’s travels from the the jungles of Venezuela to the middle of nowhere America. (Review starts at 22:56) In addition, we run down some of the other movies we’ve seen this week including Flesh Blanket, Winterskin and Dead Don’t Die. Do you want to hear us talk about the ways we used to get faded at school? We do that too; it’s hella tight. You’re lying. It didn’t die. You took it. You’re lying. You witches! You’re lying! You’re LYING! It’s the Who Goes There Podcast ep

Who Goes There Podcast: Ep. 218 – CHILD’S PLAY
30/06/2019 Duración: 01h15minAlright everyone, let’s be honest with ourselves here for just a second. Most of us hate the fact that a good amount of the “new” movies released every year, are remakes. Furthermore, most of us are really stoked that the majority of these remakes are hot garbage. Even further still, most of us took to the internet with a fervent anger when we heard that a Child’s Play reboot was in the works. Yes. A lot of the anger came from the sensitive group of “qUiT rApInG mY cHildHoOd, LeAvE mY fAvOrItE mOvIe AlOnE!” fanboys we’ve learned to expect and ignore. However, the new Child’s Play remake is a different beast entirely. This particular remake is being made with a reimagined antagonist, without the now iconic voice of Chucky (Brad Dourif), and is being made at the same time as a Child’s Play TV show that DOES have OG Chucky, voiced by Brad Dourif! Wowie Zowie! Fear not, lil’ dorks! Your buddies at the Who Goes There Podcast are hear to open up 2019’s Child’s Play to “see what we’re working with.” (Review

Who Goes There Podcast: Ep217 – EVENT HORIZON
23/06/2019 Duración: 01h07minHere at the Who Goes There Podcast we pride ourselves on being 100% honest and genuine in our reviews, and sometimes that rubs people the wrong way. Thankfully it has been a while since we’ve really pissed anyone off, and well, that just isn’t going to cut it. We’re going to (try to) start doing regularly scheduled “throwback” episodes, where we look into films released prior to 2000; this is the first of those episodes. We’ll be going balls deep into the cult classic/fan favorite/Kurt Russell approved Event Horizon. (Review starts at 25:43) This is destined to be one of the most divisive episodes in WGT history. Now I have another reason to hate Christmas. It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 217! If you enjoy the show, please consider joining our Patreon subscribers. Who Goes There Podcast: Ep216 – BLACK MIRROR SEASON 5
14/06/2019 Duración: 01h22minIt’s an undeniable fact that technology has infiltrated every single aspect of our lives. In a day and age where our refrigerators and dishwashers have wifi it’s virtually impossible to escape the cold, metallic clutches of technology. For this reason, Netflix’s Black Mirror has become one of the most creative and original franchises in quite some time. Now, we find ourselves staring down the release of the highly anticipated fifth season of the tumultuous technological terror. We’re going to exploring the bits and bytes of the three new episodes. (Review starts at 35:33) As always we run down the latest in horror news and give our opinions on a handful of films including: Bloody Bloody Bible Camp, The Odds, and Some Guy Who Kills People. There’s a bunch of kids over there in the cemetery… I know what they’re doing in there. It’s that damn Who Goes There Podcast episode 216! Who Goes There Podcast: Ep215 – MA
09/06/2019 Duración: 01h23minAhoy there, dorks! We’re back up in that ass with the resurrection! That’s just our fancy way of saying we’re back with another episode of hilarious horror hijinks…for your ass. This episode is pretty front loaded, so if you want to skip right to our thoughts on tonight’s film, skip to the 46:00 mark. All of us here at Who Goes There are getting pretty tired of hearing the name “Blumhouse” before every cinematic horror release. When you hear “Blumhouse” you get a very clear idea of what type of film you’re about to see. Much like with Troma, and Full Moon, Blumhouse definitely has a “type” when it comes to the films they release. This week, we’ll be discussing 2019’s Ma to see if it’s as wild as a high school kegger, or if it’s “just another Blumhouse film.” In addition to Ma we also give our thoughts on quite a few new releases, including Recovery, The Cleaning Lady, and The Silence. We’ve also got a heaping helping of horror news for ya; there was a lot to discuss this week. It’s the Who Goe

Who Goes There Podcast: Ep214 – BRIGHTBURN
31/05/2019 Duración: 56minLook! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s… finally the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I don’t know about you, but I have had it up to my tits with all of the superhero movies being shoved down our throats. For the last twelve years almost every film has been: weak villain attacks, fly, punch, celebrate, repeat. However, unlike zombies, the superhero genre has several ways of keeping itself feel fresh and interesting. You may be asking yourself, “but how can superhero movies keep from feeling stale?”. To which I reply, “calm down, I’ll tell you! Have you learned nothing of how this works?” Superhero films can stay relevant by changing up the formula on occasion. For example they can make the super being a child, or make it a villain story, or in the case of Brightburn, you can do both! (Review starts at 21:30) If that wasn’t enough to tickle your pickle, we also discuss our advance directives and how easily Alia could murder Matt. Rhett forgets this is a horror podcast again, Alia tr

Who Goes There Podcast: Ep213 – EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL AND VILE
26/05/2019 Duración: 01h01minFor some reason, these days, everyone and their mom is a fan of serial killers and true crime. True crime podcasts are currently among the most successful shows available, even if they’re more known for their terrible jokes than their educational values. What lies deep inside of us that sparks this fascination for brutal murderers who commit unspeakable acts? Guess what. You won’t find the answer to that here, because we’re better known for our terrible jokes than anything actually informative. We did however pull out our big fat opinions for the new Ted Bundy love letter, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil & Vile. (Review starts at 28:50) If this wasn’t enough for you we also talk a little bit about the new show Chernobyl. There’s also some more talk of remakes and other horror news for your earholes. A stupid witch who answers back, must BURN till her bones are black! It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 213! If you enjoy the show, please consider joining our Patreon subscribers.

Who Goes There Podcast: Ep212 – BLACK SUMMER
15/05/2019 Duración: 01h05minLet’s be honest, shall we? The majority of us now roll our eyes at the announcement of any new zombie movie or show. The Walking Dead has been shambling on for far too long, and has been dragging the corpse of interesting zombie media with it. As summer draws ever closer, Netflix is hoping that the spring rains will have washed away the years of shitty-zombie-stink and has brought us Black Summer. (Review starts at 27:50) Did Netflix bite off more than it can chew with its ambitious zombie series? Will the scorching summer sun intensify the stench on the corpse of a once beloved sub-genre? Or will the dead rise once again to reclaim their spot at the top of the horror heap? Let’s find out! You killed my daddy, you maniacal, media-manipulated, homicidal, hermaphrodite freak of nature! Who Goes There Podcast: Ep211 – THE CURSE OF LA LLORONA
09/05/2019 Duración: 01h19minHappy Cinco de Mayo, pendejos! This is the one time of the year that Jorge reminds us all that he IS in fact Mexican. We’re throwing our kids in the creek and getting stupid as fuck with the newest jump scare extravaganza. Join us, as we cook Trader Joes carne asada, drink craft beer designed to look like Tecate, and listen to Mexican ska. Oh yeah, we’re also going to talk about The Curse of La Llorona. (Review starts at 30:55) I normally go through an agonizing process of trying to find something fun, informative, or interesting to write here; not today. I’m on vacation in Belgium right now and have been trying to post this for two days. So in order to meet the required word count I’m just telling you this. This right here. Yup, all these things that I’m saying now are for the word count. Will anyone read it? Probably not, just don’t tell Barkan. Son, if you ever say another derogatory word about Elvis Aron Presley in my presence again, I will kick the living shit out of you! This here is the W

Who Goes There Podcast: Ep210 – THE HEAD HUNTER
30/04/2019 Duración: 01h07minEvery year, Matt and Alia come back from the Telluride Horror Show and there always seems to be one movie they absolutely rave about. Some movies, like 2018’s Aterrados, absolutely live up to the hype, while some like 2015’s They Look Like People do not. Here we are again. Another year has passed, another film fest has come and gone, and this year the adorable duo were singing the The Head Hunter‘s praises from those snowy Telluride mountaintops. (Review starts at 24:42) In fact, Matt was quoted in the films trailer, calling The Head Hunter, “a gut punch of tension, horror, and dread”. Can the film possibly live up to the massive amounts of praise showered upon it? Or will accounts of the film’s greatness prove to be just a fantasy? I am the writing on the wall, the whisper in the classroom. I am the Who Goes There Podcast, episode 210! If you enjoy the show, please consider joining our Patreon subscribers. Who Goes There Podcast: Ep209 – PET SEMATARY (2019)
24/04/2019 Duración: 01h37minWelcome, to the first time this year we’ll be squabbling about yet another Stephen King remake! This time around, we’ll be discussing the brand new remake of 1989’s Pet Sematary. If you’ve been a listener of our show for a while now you may have heard our review of Pet Sematary 2. Seeing as how we never reviewed the original, this aught to make up for that, right? (Review starts at 47:27) In addition to our to our carefully crafted colloquialisms, we also have a rather in depth conversation about why we want another Friday the 13th movie, and why slasher films in general are important. Jorge just doesn’t understand slashers, and we gotta take this little n00b to school. Guys, it’s ok! He just wants his machete back! It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 209! Who Goes There Podcast: Ep208 – CRITTERS: A NEW BINGE
17/04/2019 Duración: 01h34minGuys, we did it! We managed to wrangle in our dear friend Chris Franco for another episode! When we heard a new Critters TV show was in the works we immediately called Chris. Even better, you can stream Critters: A New Binge in its entirety over on Shudder. (Review starts at 48:00) To be honest, I’m so happy with how this episode came out. I’ve wanted to get Chris and Rhett into the same room to wax poetic for quite some time. Let me just tell you, they did not disappoint. Sit back, grab your popcorn, and enjoy the insanity! It knows what scares you. It has from the very beginning. Don’t give it any help, it knows too much already. It’s the WHO GOES THERE PODCAST episode 208! If you enjoy the show, please consider joining our Patreon subscribers. Who Goes There Podcast: Ep207 – US
09/04/2019 Duración: 02h04minWhether you love him, or you hate him, there’s no denying that Jordan Peele is currently one of, if not the biggest name in horror cinema. Hot on the heels of his 2017 breakout hit Get Out, Peele is back with his sophomore effort Us. Has Jordan Peele managed to once again capture lightning in a bottle, or has the comedian turned horror director fallen victim to the dreaded sophomore slump? (Review starts at 41:30) In order to prepare for the filming of Us, Jordan Peele had his stars watch a series of genre defining horror, so that they may fully understand what he expected of them. Likewise, we prepared for this episode, we drank… a lot. In addition to unleashing our opinions on what many are already calling “the film of the year” we also talk about how much fun you can have by putting things in your butt. If that’s not your cup of tea we also discuss Devil May Cry 5, the newly announced Toxic Avenger remake, the Dark Tower tv show, and the #horror bullshit happening over at Instagram. But you

We’ll discuss how powerful the on stage performance can be, the grace and beauty of the ballet, and timeless works of art. It’s all thanks to the cinematic masterpiece that is Blood Sucking Freaks! Join us, as we bask in the glory of one of my all time favorite Troma releases, and keep someone from flying off the handle. Who Goes There Podcast: Ep205 – THE WAILING
23/03/2019 Duración: 01h03minWe’ve been doing the Who Goes There Podcast for nearly six years and we are just now covering our first Korean film. This week, our guest this week is the haomie: author, San Diegan, and occasional taco eater Brian Asman. We discuss his new book, I’m Not Even Supposed To Be Here Today, and one of the most bizarre and insanely awesome movies we’ve ever covered in 2016’s The Wailing. (Review starts at 21:20) We also discuss other ridiculous stuff, including how Matt pisses Jorge off “on purpose”, the movies we’ve recently seen, and we drink pickle juice right in front of Brian’s pickle hating face! What is fuckin wrong with you, Brian?! You can pick up Brian Asman’s new book I’m Not Even Supposed To Be Here Today on Amazon. The book has time loops, demon summoning homeless, tasty waves, and a giant, menacing, kaiju Kevin Smith. What more do you fuckin want? Who Goes There Podcast: Ep204 – LORDS OF CHAOS
14/03/2019 Duración: 01h09minLay down your souls to the gods rock ‘n roll! Heavy metal and horror films go together like peanut butter and bacon (seriously, try it). It seems like it was only a matter of time before we’d eventually see more horror films about heavy metal. Luckily for all of us, the real life events surrounding the bands Mayhem, Burzum and the creation of Norwegian Black Metal were just begging for a big screen adaptation. Lords of Chaos introduces a world of unfamiliar fans to all of the church burning, knife wielding, corpse painted insanity that was Norway and the metal scene in the early 1990s. An adaptation of the book of the same name, Lords of Chaos claims it is based on “truth, lies, and what really happened”, but how much of this blood soaked tale is fact, and how much is just for show? Goddamn heads landing on cars while Long Island families are singing ‘Found a Peanut’! They found a peanut, all right, honey. They found a peanut of death! It’s the Who Goes There Podcast episode 204! If you enjo
