Remote Viewing is back... WITH AVENGERS! (See what I did there?) Zak, Fiona and Elroy assembled (HA! They write themselves!) to record the first episode of RV for 2012! They chat about what they've been up to, what they've seen, and - in Fiona's case - who they've made! This is it! The last episode for 2011, and in a fashion akin to the rest of the year, the organisation elves were nowhere to be seen. With Zak busy with work commitments and illness keeping Matt from making the recording, Elroy managed to MacGyver together a technical solution that allowed Simon to join the show again, this time without making the trip all the way from Adelaide! After a hit and miss couple of weeks the planets aligned and a full cast showed up for recording of this weeks episode of Remote Viewing. Given that, Elroy decided to sit off mic this week while Zak, Fiona and Matt talked about their recent viewing activities, which included Ides of March, Hori Smoku Sailor Jerry, The First Grader, and Twilight Breaking Dawn. Matt, Fiona and Elroy are back after an inpromptu break! Another quiet week at the cinema still isn't enough to stop the Remote Viewing team from talking crap about movies! Fiona was watching Spy Kids 4D and Norwegian Wood, Elroy made his way to a screening of Miles Philip's Metropolis score Redux and Attack the Block, while Matt applied plenty of alcohol and loads of feeling sorry for himself. Still deep in a cinema black-spot most of the Remote Viewing team have gone back and visited movies that they missed the first time around. Matt rejoins the show, after his work related hiatus, and discusses the Ayrton Senna documentary Senna. Fiona snuck into a preview screening of Crazy Stupid Love, Elroy was impressed by Eddie Murphy's performance in DreamGirls, and Zak chimes in on all of it! With Fiona calling in sick this week the show is manned by... well, MEN! Zak and Elroy are joined by Powers Cosmic's own Simon 'Furious' Cole! For the second week in a row Fiona and Elroy climb into Zak's bell tower, high above the Palace Westgarth cinema in Northcote. Amidst the wafting smell of popcorn and an assortment of mystery crates the team discuss Final Destination 5, Zak give us a preview of Contamination, and Elroy finally finds the time to watching Rise of the Planet of the Apes. This week our discussion topic is the childbirth scene from the brilliant 2006 film Children of Men - Elroy and Fiona grill Matt on his understanding of some of the stunning effects work that went into making a scene that most viewers aren't even aware contains any effects at all. Fiona made it to the cinema to see Mr Popper's Penguins, and the latest (and last) Harry Potter film. Elroy went for another cult classic and watched Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris swap beatings in Way of the Dragon. Not to be out done Matt dug out the Van Damme flick Double Impact. The ripe old age of 21! To celebrate our 21st episode the team pretty much just rushed through the recording and bolted out the door to eat themselves into food induced comas at a nearby dumpling house. OH THE SHAME! We all have those films that we hate to admit that we like. And there are plenty of movies that we judge others for liking! In episode 20 the team talk Movie Shame, and out a whole bunch of listeners who were tricked into confessing their secret shame! Elroy dug into the new DVD release box and pulled out Mutant Girl Squad, and dropped in to see Remote Viewing's own Zak Hepburn for a Cult Vault screening of Big Boss. Matt continued to educate the lovely Frocksandfroufrou in the ways of classic movies by watching The Big Chill. And Fiona braved the reviews to see Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon. This episode continues our efforts to examine the work of some of our favourite (and not so favourite) film makers, this week Fiona put her hand up to lead a discussion on one of her personal favourites, the man behind Machete, El mariachi, From Dusk Till Dawn: Robert Rodriguez. She also made her way to the cinema to see Cars 2 and the new Kung-Fu Panda movie. Elroy parked on the couch and watched some Chinese wire-fu action in the Blu-Ray release of Reign of Assassins.
