Our history of the spookiest night of the year continues, and we discover how Hallowe'en was celebrated in the 1970s, and looking at how it appeared in assorted books and stories in that decade.

As a prelude to our next helping of Hallowe'en history, Mr Jim Moon delves in the revivals of radio horror from the 1960s and the 1970s, to sample Hallowe'en specials from the likes of The Black Mass and the CBS Radio Mystery Theatre!

Forty years ago, in autumn 1980, a series aired that terrified a generation - the Hammer House of Horror, which saw the legendary British studio bring a new brand of Hammer horror to the small screen with thirteen scarifying tales of terror!   

In this special episode we pay tribute to the late great Dame Diana Rigg with a commentary on her favourite movie - classic horror Theatre of Blood (1973) in which she co-starred with Vincent Price, proving that Shakespeare can indeed be bloody good fun!

These slabs of interstellar vinyl saw the BBC Radiophonic Workshop conjuring up galactic soundscapes and space-age sonics for the likes of Doctor Who, Blake's 7 and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, plus many strange new worlds all of their own.
