177: Fri-Date | La Dolce Vita
13/09/2019 Duración: 32minToday’s Topic: Our life in Italy This episode comes to you from a cafe in the middle of a street in Florence, Italy. We’re loving life here so much that we’re actually looking into coming back to live here long-term. This is how our day goes. We wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy. And then we walk out on our balcony and we're on the top floor of this palazzo and we can see the Duomo and Santa Croce. We stroll Sophia down to school, which is about a mile away. Everybody walks here. It's a pedestrian friendly city with bicycles, scooters and people walking down the street, so one mile is nothing. As soon as you get out on the cobblestone streets, you're hit with the sounds and the smells of Florence. The Italians are bicycling to work and they're beautifully dressed and they're ringing their little bicycle bell so they don't kill you when they come by. But there's no rush here. Italians get up and they walk to the cafe. And they stand at the counter and they chat and sip their espresso. They ta

In business he came to realize that if his employees were unhappy, unfulfilled and weren’t making enough to meet their needs, that wasn’t making him a greater person, even if he was making great money. 175: Fri-Date | How To Avoid Looking Like Buffalo Mozzarella
06/09/2019 Duración: 27minToday’s Topic: Planning Long-term Travel A few people have asked how we specifically chose the eight or so destinations that we're traveling in over this four month journey in Europe. So today we’re looking at the process we went through to determine where we were going. We knew that my mastermind was going to start in Monaco. And I had another one four months later that was starting in Florence, Italy. So we knew that we had that space in between. If you’re American you can’t actually stay in European countries that are part of the Schengen zone for four months unless you have some weird visa so we had to include some places that are outside of the Schengen zone. For those we chose Croatia and Montenegro. We literally looked at a map of the world, and we zoomed in on places then looked at YouTube videos and Airbnb reviews. As we’re travelling for a long time we check if the Airbnbs have things like a stove and somewhere to do laundry. When you’re booking Airbnbs, really think about your lifestyle. A

173: Fri-Date | Bidets In The Way
30/08/2019 Duración: 43minToday’s Topic: Self-care When Traveling We're two months into our four month journey here in Europe. Today we’re talking about the lessons and the takeaways that we've had so far. We’re currently in Lecce in southern Italy. The AirBnb we’re staying in has a few challenges. My feet are hanging off the end of the bed, the bathroom’s really narrow and has this huge bidet in the way so brushing my teeth is really difficult to do without knocking an elbow on the wall, everyone has to turn Wi-Fi off so one person can send an email and you have to put out a different type of trash for recycling every night. It’s also difficult to get a table at restaurants and siesta means that everything is closed from 1-5pm. The biggest difference between vacation and travel is that vacations is usually a time that you're checking out and you're just going pure into enjoyment whereas when you’re traveling for a while, you're going to have bidets in your way. There is a folk tale from this region about a woman being bitten

171: Fri-Date | We Are Not Relationship Counselors But...
23/08/2019 Duración: 43minToday’s Topic: Our Marriage Kim and I are not relationship counselors, but people ask us relationship questions all the time. We came together after failed marriages so we do a lot of work on ours and there are a lot of people that we learn from, including Tony Robbins, Cloé Madanes and John and Julie Gottman. In this episode we answer a few questions, and the first one is, how do you manage your expectations of each other? The answer is that we have a conversation about how we like to live and assign a numerical value to each of our needs. And whoever has a higher need in that particular area wins. For example, my need for neat, organized clean spaces wins out in our living spaces because Kim really doesn’t care. If you have expectations of your significant other, write them down and ask, is it in their zone of genius? Is it something they naturally do? If it's not their expectation, then the buck is going to have to stop with you. For example, if having dirty dishes in the sink drives you crazy, the

169: Fri-Date | Ego Is Not Yo Amigo
16/08/2019 Duración: 36minToday’s Topic: Network marketing Since we’re traveling around Europe for four months, we’re getting a lot of ‘it must be nice’ comments. But five years ago we were working twice as hard for half the money. We were living in a dark apartment and we were struggling to figure out what our future was. As Kim says, it’s not ‘must be nice’. It’s ‘we created this bitch’. A big portion of the income that is allowing us to travel is income that we’ve created in the world of network marketing. We're not trying to sell anybody on network marketing. If it's not for you, it's not for you. But this subject has come up a lot because of our travels so we thought we would dedicate this show to answering some commonly asked questions about network marketing. How did we get started in network marketing? After we had our daughter, Sophia, Kim had planned to take six weeks off, then hire a nanny and go back to managing my chiropractic clinic. But as soon as I put Sophia in her arms she realized she didn’t want to do that.

167: Fri-Date | The Bucket System
09/08/2019 Duración: 28minToday’s Topic: Mapping out financial goals As we record, Kim’s eating grapes from the grapevine at the back of our Airbnb in Montenegro. After our 4-month Europe trip we’re moving to California, which is way more expensive than Georgia, where we used to live, so in this episode, Kim and I talk about our financial goals and how we plan to achieve them. We just started using a system we learnt from one of our mentors. The system is super simple. You have three financial buckets. Bucket 1 is about safety and security, bucket 2 is about comfort and pleasure and bucket 3 is called the baller bucket and it’s about your wild and audacious financial goals. The idea is that you fill the buckets in order. First you do the safety and security bucket. And that means you're ridding yourself of any debt, you're saving for any emergencies. Then, once that bucket is full, then you move into your comfort and pleasure bucket. And that's when you get to pay off your house and you can buy the car that you want and do tho

165: Fri-Date | Are You Stepping Out of Your Bubble?
02/08/2019 Duración: 45minToday’s Topic: Montenegro Kim and I are currently in Montenegro. If you don’t know where Montenegro is, it was part of the former Yugoslavia and is south of Croatia, Russia and Bosnia. I was nervous about coming to Montenegro and at first it was a total shock to the system. First I got into a little trouble at the border for Instagramming photos of the police. Then we drove around without any phone signal trying to find our Airbnb only to discover it was at the top of a very steep hill. 155 steps, one broken flip-flop and many misadventures with luggage later, I got up to the Airbnb to realize it came with a cat. I’m so allergic to cats I get hives on the palm of my hands. Then there were the bugs, the flies and the mosquitoes. I woke up the next morning with my eyes swollen shut from the cat allergy and suffering the shits because of the dinner we’d had the night before. At this point I was pretty annoyed. Then Kim revealed that when she’d said we were staying for “like, 14 days”, she really meant 18

163: Fri-Date | Don’t be a leg-humper
26/07/2019 Duración: 23minToday’s Topic: Leg-humping Today’s episode is inspired by a post from our friend, Chris Harder. He coined the term ‘leg-humping’ to describe people who are trying to climb the social marketing online business ladder. You can apply it to anything. When someone comes into a business or some sort of group or environment, you can always tell the person that's trying to find out who there can help them the most, the person who is going to make them look better. They’re thinking, If I just get that person to do an IG takeover, then I'll skyrocket, or, if I can just get that person to take a picture with me and I can post it, it's going to catapult me into the universe. if you really want to up level your tribe, you have to do it in an authentic way, provide value and create real relationships. Practice what we call sensory acuity, using your senses to see if what you're saying or doing with someone is landing. And don’t gossip because we can't connect with somebody that we can't trust. 19/07/2019 Duración: 34minToday’s Topic: The 15-Year Overnight Success This podcast, our business, the incredible tribe of people around us: it all started as a dream. Not last night. Not last year. Over a decade ago. Then, we created a plan – and after some time, a few stumbles, and a whole lot of action, we started seeing our dreams come true. Some may look at our posts on social media and call it an overnight success, but it took 15 years. And we know that a lot of you are dreamers, too... but we also know that bridging that gap from dream to reality can feel impossible at times! So, today, we’re going to share the four things that helped shifted everything for us over the course of 15 years: Getting really, really honest with yourself (and your partner, if you have one) – dig deep to find out who you really are and what you really want, without the fear of judgement. Learning to manage your mindset. You will – not might – run into physical, mental, and emotional obstacles, so you have to be prepared for that. Be willing

12/07/2019 Duración: 25minToday’s Topic: Leadership If you’re going to lead other people – in your job, in your home, or in your community – you have to learn how to lead yourself. At the same time, if you’re anything like me, you have to be able to recognize whether or not leading is something you excel at. Over the years, I’ve realized that I’m not the best person for leading a team of employees, so I’ve had to put systems and people in place to help me. Kim, on the other hand, is a natural! So, today, Kim and I are going to get a little introspective before she shares three things you need to know and embody if you want to be a great leader: A leader’s job is to hold other people’s vision A leader empowers.
