Premium FPL Midfielders | The People's Poll ep. 152 | Planet FPL 2024/25
22/10/2024 Duración: 52minSuj and James have an open discussion about the 6 highest priced midfielders in FPL; Mo Salah, Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden with the aim of ascertaining which of them is desired most in the immediate upcoming fixtures and then in the longer-term from the fixture swing in Gameweek 12. There's a look at the data so far this season, the fixtures, the explosive capabilities of the players and how many is the right number to have, the danger of having only one and cutting yourself off of others and how having as many as three can allow you flexibility to move budget around. But having only two, and certainly three, would make it very difficult to hold Erling Haaland moving forward. To Regulate Or Manipulate | Planet FPL S. 8 Ep. 17 | GW8 Review | Fantasy Premier League
21/10/2024 Duración: 01h58minSuj and James review all the key talking points from the Gameweek 8 weekend and for many it was an FPL weekend to forget with many popular assets blanking, but there were success stories to be found with the likes of Mo Salah, Heung-Min Son (perhaps controversially) and Ollie Watkins returning well. Son, was gambled on by a number of FPL managers just before deadline with concern surrounding Bukayo Saka, who wouldn't feature in The Gunners first defeat of the season at Bournemouth. Did those managers have inside information on Saka's absence!? James is holding on to a place just inside the top 10k, but his biggest joy of the weekend was seeing success for Tottenham in the Planet FPL Derby, which features heavily in a Gameweek Review that also covers how Chelsea impressed despite defeat at Liverpool. And it was a third blank in a row for Erling Haaland at Wolves, so surely he can't blank again with whipping boys Southampton up next. Or could he!? Deploying the triple captaincy is discussed and James has som

It's one point from seven for Wolves and the, pressure is mounting on Gary O'Neil, but have they really been as bad as the results suggest? For City, much of discourse recently has surrounded Pep Guardiola's future, but whether he stays on beyond this season or not, the immediate conundrum is finding solutions to replace the irreplaceable Rodri. Plus, FPL chat includes discussion on Erling Haaland and whether one of the upcoming fixtures (Southampton follows Wolves) look good enough to deploy the Triple Captaincy Chip. Capello's England Reign | The People's Poll ep. 151 | Planet FPL 2024/25
15/10/2024 Duración: 46minClayton and James discuss the England reign of Fabio Capello, that began after England had failed to qualify for The European Championship and ended four years later after a successful campaign to qualify for the same tournament. The end came after Capello's captain had been stripped by the FA of the captaincy for off the field misdemeanors, which came a couple of years after Capello had stripped the same player, John Terry, for other off field problems. Those issues with Terry feature in the conversation and there's coverage of the highs and lows on the field as England sought revenge against Croatia in their attempts to qualify for the 2010 World Cup before being humbled miserably by Germany in the Last 16. 14/10/2024 Duración: 01h13minSuj and James look ahead to the forthcoming four weeks before the final Interlull in 2024, a period where for many popular FPL assets the fixtures look rough, primarily because of fixtures against each other. For example Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all play each other over the next four. There's discussion on flipping assets with bad fixtures, such as Bukayo Saka for someone with a great run like Phil Foden, how often would feel comfortable to play the likes of Morgan Rogers or Antoine Semenyo over this period. There's discussion on which enablers are fancied from those with positive fixtures, Brennan Johnson's appeal and can James finally decided it's time for Erling Haaland? Plus, there's actually some good listener questions covered. Fulham v Aston Villa | CotC with Lewis James & Lee Jackson | Planet FPL 2024/25
10/10/2024 Duración: 56minOn Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Fulham fan Lewis James and Aston Villa Lee Jackson to discuss the latest at their clubs and their interesting FPL assets ahead of the GW8 meeting at Craven Cottage. Fulham have started really well, beaten only twice in Manchester and they have a great group of upcoming fixtures, whilst Villa have also started well, though it perhaps should also be expected with who they've played so far and fixtures are now looking tougher and have we already seen signs of the Champions League proving a distraction? Both Antonee Robinson and Emile Smith-Rowe have been popular for FPL managers so far, should Fantasy managers stick with them or look elsewhere with Fulham having only kept one clean sheet and with Smith-Rowe benched at the weekend? James has a big Erling Haaland dilemma, and the only way to get him him would include selling Ollie Watkins; does Lee think he should do it? Plus, there's a follow up on conversation during the last International break on concerns o

08/10/2024 Duración: 57minOn the first of three Clash of the Correspondents during the International break James is joined by Nottingham Forest fan Mark Sutherns and Crystal Palace fan Ruaidhri McLoughlin-Dowd to discuss the latest at their clubs and their FPL assets ahead of the GW8 Monday night meeting at The City Ground. Forest have made an impressive start, having lost only once and remain unbeaten away from home following Sunday's draw at Chelsea, but to flip that they haven't won from home fixtures against Bournemouth, Wolves and Fulham. Are they turning now as hard to beat as Nuno Espirito Santo's use to feel? Meanwhile no one would have expected Palace to remain winless after how well they finished last season, so what's going on? There's discussion on if Oliver Glasner should consider abandoning his back three system and if Palace have recruited in the wrong areas. Plus, FPL chat includes discussion on key men Morgan Gibbs-White and Ebe Eze, the prospects for Chis Wood and which club would be better invest in defensively.

07/10/2024 Duración: 01h55minJames is just outside the top 5k after another storming weekend on his no Haaland strategy, but can it continue - and does James even want to continue without him - with Wolves and Southampton next for the big Norweigian!? On the Gameweek 7 Review Suj and Jaes discuss all the weekend games, which included Bukayo Saka's haul for Arsenal against Southampton, Haaland's blank against a Fulham side who will feel they merited something from The Etihad and one or two games that didn't thrill the neutral. One that thrill however was Brighton's come from behind victory against Tottenham, which dented James' good mood. There's an attempted explainer of what went wrong and the Podcast may even feature a bit of Erik Ten Hag, praise...? Plus, many FPL managers ate looking at players they may need to sacrifice to afford others, fixtures are about to get tough for many of the best teams and budget to mid price FPL forwards becomes a feature, an d the one James has his eye on most may well surprise. 30/09/2024 Duración: 01h48minSuj and James discuss the 9 games from the Premier League weekend and there was some wild swings for Fantasy managers, and particularly many on Wildcard which included Suj, and for many it ended in disappointment. There's discussion on thinking longer-term for Wildcard and that decisions aren't made based on just one Gameweek. But for James, who Wildcarded back in week 3, it was a stormer and Cole Palmer's monster 25 point haul helped him rise inside the nose bleed territory of the top 50k. But what should Palmer owners who have gone without do now? Does structure and upcoming fixtures necessitate continuing to go without? All the games covered as usual which include the North London clubs posting some silly underlying numbers, Liverpool's win that took them top, Villa being held by Ipswich and it's getting tiring talking about the shortcomings of Manchester United! Is There Too Much Top Level Football? | The People's Poll ep. 149 | Planet FPL 2024/25
26/09/2024 Duración: 01h02minIs there too much football at the top level of the game? It's a hot topic of debate particularly in light of Rodri suffering a serious injury only days after speaking out again about the demands on players physically and mentally at the upper echelons of the game. Clayton joins James for an open discussion on if the likes of Rodri are right, and if so, what can be done to change things? Conversation features the Science opinion on how many games games top players are asked to play, why the manager and player opinion often differs from 'the club' demands, the future of the Carabao Cup, whether the FIFA Club World Cup will actually happen, if players could actually consider strike action and a suggestion that might actually have some legs in the longer-term to reduce the amount of games players participate in.
