Dave continues our application of the Book of `James in the third part of our 'Faith That Works' series. Comparing what James says about faith and comparing it with St Paul's message, were they raising opposite views or do we need to explore the context a bit deeper?

Nathan continues our application of the book of James, in the second part of our 'Faith That Works' series. Using the well known passage from James 3, Nathan talks about the power of words and how words can become action in our community.

As we begin a new year, we also begin a new series, 'Faith That Works', exploring the book of James. Rebekah opens the series by reflecting on fresh starts and shared purpose, inviting us to consider how our faith might take shape in action—within Oasis Church and in the community we are a part of.

In the final part of our Advent Series, Nathan looks at the prophet Anna. He encourages us to think about the character of this woman who was being faithful in the temple courts. Nathan also looks ahead to the new year and encourages us the reflect on 2025 and consider our next steps int 2026. This series is inspired by 'Women of the Nativity' written by Paula Gooder.

In the third part of our Advent Series, Rebekah looks again at Mary but challenges us to consider how she is presented in Luke's gospel and the recount of her proclamation/song/prophesy and it's impact in the modern age and for us today. In the second part of our Advent Series, Heidi looks at two women whose names we know and who are familiar characters in the Nativity, but she looks closer at the dynamic of their relationship and what we can learn from them today. Paula Gooder launches our Advent Series by introducing us the 'Women of the Nativity', based on her book by the same name. Paula invites us to think about the named women we know well, the named women we don't know too much about and the unnamed or unnoticed women who were also present at the Nativity. During Advent we hope to get to know some of these women a little better.

Michelle brings our series "Why did Jesus say that?" to a close with Jesus telling his followers not to worry. It's seems straight forward but it can feel hard to live out. Michelle widens the lens and reminds us, context is everything.

Jill Rowe continues our series 'Why did Jesus say that?' looking at Jesus' statement "I did not come to bring peace but a sword." It seems like a difficult message on Remembrance Sunday!

Steve Chalke looks at what Jesus said about divorce and marriage, it seems simple but he explores the context and the religious debate that was happening at the time. The implications of what Jesus said includes us all. Bible text: Matthew 5:31-32, 19:3-9

Rebekah continues our series 'Why did Jesus say that?' by exploring an incident record in the gospel of Mark. It involves Jesus breaking Jewish religious laws and crossing boundaries to go to an "unclean place", to meet an "unclean man", engaging with "unclean spirits" and "unclean animals" - but why?!

Nathan launches our new series 'Why did Jesus say that?' We look at the passages where Jesus is reported to have said some rather challenging things. What did Jesus really say and mean? We start looking at Matthew 25:31-46, this passage seems to talk about a final judgement and the separation of people like 'sheep and goats', doesn't it?
