Nose Twitch: A Bewitched Fancast

Informações:

Sinopsis

A (mostly) biweekly review of every episode of Bewitched. Austin is a public librarian in Georgia who used to skip school to watch reruns of Bewitched, who thinks Aunt Clara may be the most endearing character to appear on any TV show, and who absolutely still practices his own twitch in the mirror every day.

Episodios

  • 033: A Change of Face

    27/08/2018 Duración: 39min

Is it a coincidence that this podcast gets a new episode days after news about a possible Bewitched reboot? No. It is extremely not a coincidence. You could even say that it is actually very much because there's news about a possible Bewitched reboot. Is that maybe indicative of attention-seeking behavior? Almost definitely. Will that mean coming back to a more regular episode release schedule? It would certainly be nice, wouldn't it. Follow Nose Twitch on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 032: Illegal Separation

    02/01/2018 Duración: 50min

Having completely forgotten the past few episodes, Gladys pulls out another trio of wigs to seduce you into coming back home. Austin is joined by Jillian and together they mostly talk about this episode, but other things inevitably sneak in, and by the end they've forgotten who they are and what they're doing.  Follow us on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 031: That Was My Wife

    16/12/2017 Duración: 25min

Do you hear that? That's the sound of my mind breaking as I try to appropriately discuss Larry's workplace sexual harassment and general view of women. THIS SHOW. I still like it, but man. It can be a lot. We'll also talk about hibernating, because, IDK, I found that analogy and fell in love with it. Stick around to the end of the episode where I, once again, forget Irene Vernon's name. Sorry, Irene Vernon. I really do think you did a wonderful job. Follow Nose Twitch on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 030: George the Warlock

    05/12/2017 Duración: 01h01min

The words "OF COURSE I KNOW WHO VANNA WHITE IS" are shouted in this episode, so you know it's going to be a beautiful one. David L. Pierce, author of "The Bewitched History Book", returns to talk about Pleasure O'Riley's sister, Danger, who keeps a dictionary in the kitchen and is also maybe the most wonderful mortal this show has given us. Austin forgets the history of copy&paste. Christopher George's Playgirl centerfold is mentioned. Obviously this is going to be a classy one. • 029: Abner Kadabra

    06/11/2017 Duración: 25min

Live from a hotel room in Houston, Austin sits inside an air conditioner and discusses the 29th episode of Bewitched. Gladys makes it rain. Abner becomes a believer. Samantha and Darrin step farther over that moral line in the sand. Esther Perlman comes to visit and Mrs. Grunbacher thinks about Venus.  Follow us on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 028: Open the Door, Witchcraft

    28/10/2017 Duración: 34min

I jumped the gun this week and talked a lot about Abner Kravitz, even though the next episode literally has his name in the title. But it's okay! Because I think we get a lot of really good insight into Abner today. Darrin does his most egregious nonsense yet. Samantha sticks to her principles. Gladys crashes into some doors. Everything's working out great in Morning Glory Circle. Follow us on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 027: There's No Witch Like an Old Witch

    12/10/2017 Duración: 23min

You know it's rude to come out and say "Aunt Clara's here, make sure the doorknobs are secure" but you also kind of know you need to say it because you've had to replace 6 in the last month. Maybe you can distract her this time with your montages and your goldfish collection (?????). This week, Austin talks about the episode where Aunt Clara becomes a babysitter, and Samantha and Darrin also are in it.  Follow us on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 026: Driving is the Only Way to Fly

    04/10/2017 Duración: 01h02min

Two episodes after our proto-Serena episode, we reach the proto-Arthur episode, and it's such a relief! Also, hello, it's been a little while, hasn't it? Yeah. That's on me. But to make up for my brief absence, I've brought with me Nick from the You're Too Show and Every Day's Great podcasts! He'll be taking over the role of Paul Lynde. Please find him in the center square. Follow You're Too Show: @YoureTooShow Follow Every Day's Great: @EveryDaysCast Follow Nose Twitch: @NoseTwitch

  • 025: Pleasure O'Riley

    16/09/2017 Duración: 31min

There's a ladybug crawling on my microphone as I type out this episode description, and let me tell you dear listener, the sounds coming from its tiny legs are surely more heartwarming than the things I talk about today. I want to provide an accurate description of what is said this episode, but instead I think I'll leave you the phone number of The National Domestic Violence Hotline, which you should call if you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence. • 024: Which Witch is Which?

    07/09/2017 Duración: 31min

Do you ever experience that thing where your sister answers the phone and you're not sure whether it's your sister or your mother? That's kind of what this whole episode is. Austin's back to talk about the proto-Serena episode in which Endora gets to date a mortal and Samantha gets to clean the windows. But at least she got those pork chops that were on sale, I guess. • 023: Red Light, Green Light

    19/08/2017 Duración: 39min

Aunt Clara may collect doorknobs, but she's got nothing on Endora's fascination with traffic signals. This week, Austin looks at Darrin's sudden change of heart about magic, and guys? It's the most wonderful, enjoyable part of this episode. There's lots of enjoyable parts, of course, but a totally content Darrin makes it all the more so.

  • 022: Eye of the Beholder

    10/08/2017 Duración: 55min

Well, it's happened. Austin has a guest who knows more about Bewitched than he does. It's David L. Pierce, author of "The Bewitched History Book!" And now Austin has to give up the podcast. Legally. It's a shame, because this episode has so much to ruminate on: Dick York's family, Elizabeth Montgomery's family, the pilot episode of Bewitched??? I guess you'll just have to savor this one for a while. Immense thanks to David L. Pierce for being a guest on this episode. You can buy his book, "The Bewitched History Book," at your local bookstore.  Follow David on Facebook: fb.me/BewitchedHistoryBook Follow David on Twitter: @BewitchedBook Follow Nose Twitch on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 021: Ling Ling

    06/08/2017 Duración: 36min

Meow it's time for your favorite show! I'm sorry if this episode isn't purrfect. If you need to take a break, I suggest you just hit the paws button, maybe go take a little catnap before coming back to it. But I do think that this is one you can really sink your claws into. I will not apologize for the above sentences. Follow us on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 020: Your Witch is Showing

    25/07/2017 Duración: 31min

Austin weathers the storm of Endora's wrath as he talks about her propensity to threaten never to come back. But on the plus side, we finally have a more accurate estimate for Darrin's age! So maybe one day we'll stop talking about it. Maybe. I'm not making any guarantees.  Follow us on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 019: A Nice Little Dinner Party

    19/07/2017 Duración: 01h09min

Having trouble appreciating Darrin's mother as something other than a foil for Samantha? You should listen to this episode; we talk a lot about the relatability of Phyllis Stephens and why her insecurities are so perfect. We also talk about the Great Depression and Endora's stint as a rom-com writer. Austin is joined by Jillian once again to recap Bewitched's 19th episode, where Darrin says something horrible, Samantha acts like an adult, and Frank lets his guard down. Follow us on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 018: The Cat's Meow

    11/07/2017 Duración: 52min

This episode is dedicated to Clarence Lung, who had to put up with the absolute nonsense that is portraying a racist caricature in this episode about how Darrin would handle being sexually assaulted by a client. Austin and his friend Charlie discuss Endora's innocence, Margaret's power, and Samantha's trash incinerator. Generally positive reviews all around. Follow us on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 017: A is for Aardvark

    04/07/2017 Duración: 59min

In the most saccharine episode yet, Austin is joined by Peter (husband and co-host of the "Now Kiss" podcast) to talk about time travel, ham sandwiches, and the importance of giving your loved ones magic powers. Austin tries to hold back his tears. Peter teases Austin about Christmas. Like I said, saccharine. Follow Peter's fanfic podcast, Now Kiss: @NowKissCast. Follow us on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 016: It's Magic

    28/06/2017 Duración: 36min

If it's a dollar for a kiss from Gladys Kravitz in 1965, how does that compare with a kiss from me, taking inflation into consideration? Hi, I'm Austin, and I'm here to talk to you about my new product, Goldfish Gin - gin that's safe for goldfish to swim in. Don't touch that dial, because this episode is going to start introducing in-universe reasons for all the actor mix-ups in Bewitched. Follow us on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 015: A Vision of Sugar Plums

    20/06/2017 Duración: 41min

In this Father's Day episode about adoption, it's actually a Christmas episode about Halloween witches. Confused? Wait until you hear how Dennis the Menace's neighbor lets the Stephens take Will Robinson home so that he can get a present for Major Healey and Betty Rubble. This is an episode for all seasons and for all fandoms.  Follow us on Twitter: @NoseTwitch

  • 014: Samantha Meets the Folks

    09/06/2017 Duración: 39min

So much family in this episode! Austin is joined by his mother-in-law, Mary (@marylovesglass), to talk about in-laws, doorknob collections, and Bewitched RPGs. Austin wants to apologize for using the word "telly" in this episode, but not for how often he laughs at this episode, because it's a gem. A true gem. A gem worthy of the Hope Diamond, or any equivalent doorknobs. Follow us on Twitter: @NoseTwitch
