Radio engineer and producer Ann Charles features on this week's episode of the PSNEurope Women in Audio podcast. Charles has had an amazingly eclectic career, from teaching radio journalism in New Zealand to working on broadcast community projects in South Sudan. She describes herself as being the "translator between the engineery tech people and the people who are actually using the technology". PSNEurope editor Dan Gumble and staff writer Tara Lepore also spoke to her about getting more girls into STEM subjects from an early age and some of the issues around being a freelancer in today’s industry.

Producer and solo artist Lauren Deakin Davies has been trailblazing through the industry in the past couple of years. She won the NMG Producer of the Year award in 2017, was a panellist at Pro Sound’s PSNPresents networking and panel night in November last year and is the youngest ever female producer to have had music played on BBC Radio 2. She spoke to us about her highlights thus far, entry barriers facing those in the industry and the importance of the Music Producers Guild.

For this week's episode of our Women in Audio podcast, we spoke to Laura Lewis-Paul, the creative director behind Bristol-based record label Saffron Records. Alongside the label, Lewis-Paul coordinates sound and engineering and music production classes for women in Bristol eager to get experience in audio production. PSNEurope spoke to award-winning engineer Marta Salogni about her amazing career to date, which has recently seen her receive the 2018 Breakthrough Engineer of the Year title at this year's MPG Awards. PSNEurope's Dan Gumble and Tara Lepore spoke to her about working from Miloco's Assault and Battery studios in north-west London, mixing on St. Vincent's 2017 album Masseduction and how female producers are now breaking through in a really big way.
