Never Getting Off This Train
13/11/2024 Duración: 33minIf you've seen the second Hunger Games movie - Catching Fire - you know that Katniss and Peeta, two of the main characters, are touring the districts by train after winning the 74th annual Hunger Games, as is custom for the winner to do. Things go badly in District 11, when Katniss accidentally provokes the crowd into doing something that gets one of them killed by Capital Peacekeepers. Completely freaked out, Katniss cries to Haymitch, hers and Peeta's mentor, about how to just get through the end of the tour so they can go home. "Wake up, girl," Haymitch says, snapping his fingers. "This trip doesn't end. You ain't EVER getting off this train!" The concept of never getting off the train is pretty terrifying in those circumstances! But when you look at it from a different perspective, it’s actually a powerful way to think about your health journey, and here’s why. One reason SO many people gain back weight is because they keep "getting off the train." Put another way, they think they can skip doing the exact

There are no new ideas
06/11/2024 Duración: 33minI was standing at the Mr. Olympia bodybuilding competition in Las Vegas with my buddy Kris Gethin last month, looking at all the exhibitor promising things like DNA testing and weight loss pills... When I was suddenly reminded of something I heard years ago: That there are no new ideas. Despite endless rounds of "promising new" gimmicks that want you to believe you can pop a pill or get a shot and melt away the fat in six seconds, there's no getting around your body's need for real food, water, and sleep for lasting weight loss and optimal wellness. Real food, water, and sleep are what we've needed for all of humanity's existence. It's the proper human diet. It's what we're designed for. It's NOT new! And even high-quality supplements like the kind Code Red offers don't change that. Do I think high-quality supplements have value? Absolutely, to a point. Do I think you can out-supplement a bad diet? Absolutely NOT. And to say otherwise is pretty insulting to Rebels like Lory Stobart, who lost 205 pounds in 18

Proof, Promise, Plan
30/10/2024 Duración: 30minIn this episode, I'm talking about three things that every single business needs in order for a customer to feel comfortable buying their product or service: Proof Promise Plan (You may not realize it, but when you're making a buying decision, you're unconsciously on the lookout for these things, too.) Using Code Red as example: Proof: Before and after photos and testimonials of Rebels who've gotten results Promise: A nutrition program that enables you to lose up to 10% of your body weight every month without shakes, diet pills, diet foods, or exercise Plan: A Home Study program, the 10 Pound Takedown, the 7-Day Total Body Reset, the 21-Day Identity Shift, my books...there are lots of plans with Code Red! In today's world, proof can be faked (or stolen), and consumers are - understandably - pretty distrustful because of it. As a consumer, it's important to do your due diligence. As a business owner, it's important to be transparent about your proof as well as show it. This podcast episode is e

Small Steps Are Better Than NO STEPS with Jeff Later
23/10/2024 Duración: 48minI’ve been in this industry for over 30 years, and I’ve learned that even small steps, taken CONSISTENTLY, will get you where you wanna be. I've also learned that a lot of people fall prey to the “all or nothing mindset," which is an outlook that says, "If I can't do it perfectly, I'm not doing it at all." A lot of people are either all in or they’re all out. It’s understandable that if you’re wanting to do something, you want to do it right and dedicate everything you have to it. But refusing to do ANYTHING if you can't do EVERYTHING is a recipe for failure. Small steps are better than no steps. And as much as I love seeing people go all-in with Code Red... I'd still rather they do something than nothing. (That's why I encourage people to start with a 10 Pound Takedown. It's only 30 days of doing the simple basics.) Not all days are going to be good days, and on those not-so-good days, the most important thing you can do is SOMETHING, because the days you struggle are the days that matter most. In this episod

Pay down your ignorance
16/10/2024 Duración: 40minWhen you, me - anyone - goes into a new venture of any kind... Whether it's weight loss, building your own business, getting married, having kids... We tend to be pretty ignorant about what it's ACTUALLY gonna take to be successful. We think we know, but usually, we don't. Not really. In some cases, our ignorance comes from a lack of knowledge. In other cases, we do have some knowledge, but the knowledge doesn't prepare us for the EXPERIENCE of doing what it takes to succeed. Either way, our ignorance catches up with us, and we take a step back and go, "Woa, there is WAY more to this than I expected." A while back, I heard about this concept called paying down your ignorance. Basically, it's four steps you need to take to go from ignorant about how to be successful to actually BEING successful. Whatever your goals are in your health, wealth, or relationships, check out this episode to learn these four keys to success used by people who hit their goals (including in weight loss). 3 Lessons from a TOXIC relationship
09/10/2024 Duración: 21minI'm 48 at the time of this writing, and I've been in a few relationships and a few marriages. A couple of those relationships were toxic. For all of them, I wish I would have known then what I know now. But I’m a better person now for having gone through them (particularly the most recent one from 2023), because I learned so much about myself. I learned what I don’t want and what I DO want. I also learned three very important lessons that I want to pass onto you to help you recover and heal from any toxic relationships you may have been in (or are currently in). Tune into this podcast to hear these three lessons and use them to set yourself free. Join the 10 Pound Takedown Challenge - Lose your first, next, or last 10 pounds!! The BENEFIT of the BENEFIT with Jeff Later
02/10/2024 Duración: 42minYou, me, pretty much everyone has set at least one goal in their lifetime. It might be to lose weight or build muscle. But what most people don’t really think about are the benefits of reaching their goals. Put another way, our end goal isn’t to lose weight or build muscle. It’s what losing weight or building muscle will get us. There are BENEFITS to them that we want in our lives. Using weight loss as our example, you’re not losing weight just to lose weight. Nobody WANTS to “lose weight.” You’re losing weight because you want to have more energy, or to feel confident in your own skin, or to enjoy stable moods, or even just to feel good about YOU. I’m a big fan of getting clear on the benefit of the benefit, because when you go deeper than "lose weight" and find the benefits of losing weight that are meaningful to YOU, it can keep you going when nothing else does. In this episode, I'm joined once again by special guest, Jeff Later, and together, we're gonna dive into the benefit of the benefit. Tune into thi

Find Stability in the PROCESS
25/09/2024 Duración: 28minLife doesn't stop throwing you curveballs just because you're on a weight loss journey. A divorce, the death of a loved one, getting fired, sick kids, losing a pet...the rollercoaster of life never stops while you’re still alive. A lot of people try to find stability in unstable times by eating themselves into obesity and disease...which only creates MORE instability. Then there are those who lean in and find stability in the process of living the Code Red Lifestyle™. I remember a 1:1 client I had about seven years ago. Her mom died during her program with me, and I asked her if she needed to pause the program for a bit. "No, I don't want to, because this is something I can control," she told me. In a situation you can't control or predict, the best way to feel in control is to focus on what you actually CAN control. And what you can always control are your thoughts, choices, and actions... Including the last eight inches between your plate and your mouth. Tune into this podcast episode and learn how to find

from a Man's Perspective with Jeff Later
18/09/2024 Duración: 48minIn this week's new podcast episode, I'm joined by a special guest to talk about something I don't often talk about on Code Red: Men. My guest's name is Jeff Later, and I've known him for years. He's a pro body builder, fitness coach, and lifestyle coach. To look at him, you'd likely assume that he only works with bodybuilders. But the reality is, he works mostly with men and women over forty, with sixty-five percent of his clients being female (because women, in general, are more open to receiving instruction than are men). Jeff and I have talked before about the state of our country's health, and Jeff recently shared a thoroughly researched (and scary) statistic with me: The fathers of today's men had more testosterone than today's men do; and their grandfathers had even more. In fact, society-wide, we've seen severe declines in testosterone and other hormones (in both men and women). Women have testosterone, too, and in both men and women, it influences muscle mass, longevity, mood, libido, and MORE (when i

GRAZING IS THE ENEMY
11/09/2024 Duración: 39minI've been to Europe eleven times and traveled all over the world during my boxing career. And one thing I saw over and over is that in most European countries (not all, but most), obesity is very rare. One of my Certified Coaches recently asked me why that is. Meaning, why are Americans so much heavier than most Europeans? Well, one reason is that Europe has banned most of the gross chemicals we pack into our foods (especially our processed foods). They also don't do GMOs or add inflammatory seed oils to everything. Even fast food restaurants like McDonald's have fewer ingredients and fewer chemicals in their "food." But all that is just the tip of the iceberg. In this podcast episode, I'm diving into the reasons most European countries are not as fat or sick as we are in the U.S. The reason I'm focusing on most is an eating style known as grazing...including what it is and why it adds to our obesity and disease. Tune into this episode for the full scoop on why grazing is the enemy. Plus, learn more about why

ONE DAY, YOU WON'T HAVE THE CHANCE
04/09/2024 Duración: 28minLast month, I took Hazel to detection training school in Canada. I did it because Hazel is a working dog. A Belgian Malinois. Belgians are the most agile, heroic, and (potentially) lethal dog breed on the planet. That's why law enforcement agencies use them as detection and apprehension dogs. Hazel was too small and too sweet to officially work for law enforcement, which is one reason I decided to adopt her. But she's still a Malinois, and she's not built to be a family pet... Which is why I signed us up for detection training school...so I better understood how to give her what SHE needs, as a Malinois. The detection class itself was really fun, but going to Canada was an expensive, exhausting pain in the butt in pretty much every way. Seriously, there were plenty of reasons NOT to go...like the money (I spent thousands of dollars on the class, the travel, and the Airbnb I stayed at), like being gone from home for too long, and like having to get up at 4 AM to get my work done before the class started. But I

SEE YOU TOMORROW!
28/08/2024 Duración: 35minWhile I was in Calgary a few weeks back, I got coffee from the drive-thru of a coffee shop called Tim Horton's. On the way out of the drive-thru, I spotted a sign that said, "See you tomorrow." Not, "Have a nice day" or "Thank you for your business," but "See you tomorrow." On the one hand, it's kinda brilliant. It plants this little seed that you should come back tomorrow, and does it in a subtle way so you don't feel like you're being told what to do. But in some situations, getting someone to come back is one of the WORST things you can try to do. And if you're a customer who keeps going back, you could be doing yourself more harm than good in these certain situations. Watch this episode to find out why, including why and when YOU should think twice about "going back tomorrow." ---- coderedlifestyle.com/grind https://coderedlifestyle.com/retreat ---- Become a Code Red VIP https://coderedlifestyle.com/vip ---- coderedlifestyle.com/meat at checkout and use codered for free pound of ground beef! ---- Lose you

THE 3 BIGGEST MONTHS FOR WEIGHT LOSS
21/08/2024 Duración: 41minThere are three months out of the year when a higher than normal percentage of people try to lose weight. It's interesting to see how many people mindlessly fall into the pattern of waiting until one of these three months. So why is it even an issue? Because when you wait for them (even if you don't realize that's what you're doing), you're programming yourself for failure... Just like you are when you think you should wait until Monday, or until you're not on your monthly cycle, or until some other outside circumstance falls into place and life is perfect. The reality is that you're ready when YOU decide you're ready. When you get yourself to that point, nothing will stop you. I know because I see it all the time. To find out what these three biggest months for weight loss are, and more importantly, how to avoid the unconscious trap of thinking you should wait for one of them to get your weight and wellness under control, tune into this episode! ---- coderedlifestyle.com/grind https://coderedlifestyle.com/re

Sales at all COSTS
14/08/2024 Duración: 32minThis week’s episode is about how to avoid “sales at all costs” companies that don’t care about your success. Here’s an example of what I mean. On July 7, a guy pulled out in front of me. I couldn't stop in time and T-boned him, leaving me without a vehicle. I decided to buy a Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40, as I'd always wanted a vehicle like that, and it's a good vehicle for summer. I found one in Lake Tahoe, bought it, and made arrangements with a car transport company to drive it to me in Boise. The transport company told me they'd get it to me in one to three days, and it would cost over $600.

The DANGERS of ALL or NOTHING
07/08/2024 Duración: 29minPicture this. You're following the program and doing well. Then you make a bad choice and set yourself back. And instead of getting right back on track, you abandon the program entirely...because if you can't do it perfectly, you aren't gonna do it at all. I see this mindset in a lot of people. It's called the all or nothing mindset, and it is NOT your friend. Case in point: This week's podcast guest, Lory Stobart, lost 205 pounds in 18 months on the Code Red Lifestyle™... Which she NEVER would have done if she'd given in to the all or nothing mindset. If you beat yourself up and quit when you make a mistake or a bad decision, tune into this episode and hear why leaving behind the "all or nothing mindset" is your ticket to FINALLY getting and keeping the weight off. ---- coderedlifestyle.com/grind https://coderedlifestyle.com/retreat ---- Become a Code Red VIP https://coderedlifestyle.com/vip ---- coderedlifestyle.com/meat at checkout and use codered for free pound of ground beef! ---- Lose your first, next,

SHE WAS WILLING TO RISK HER CAREER w/ Hannah Utler
31/07/2024 Duración: 59minI talked to my cousin, Hannah, a few weeks ago at a family wedding and invited her onto my podcast as a guest...because she's a teacher and youth pastor who figured out how to make Code Red work for her. Before she started Code Red, Hannah’s bones would crack when she got out of bed. She was in pain, and it was difficult to lift things and squeeze herself between the desks in her classroom. Hannah’s journey with Code Red actually started after a dream she had last year (2023). In her dream she had lost all the weight she was carrying and became pregnant (fertility is part of her health journey). Hannah told me the Lord gave her that dream...so when a friend encouraged her to care for her health, she decided to sign up for the Code Red Lifestyle™. She started on March 4, 2023, and says she's never looked back. If you're a teacher, nurse, caregiver, or someone with any kind of crazy schedule who struggles to make Code Red work for you (or you flat-out think you can't make it work), tune into this episode to hea

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU QUIT SUGAR?
24/07/2024 Duración: 25minMost people agree that sugar tastes good. Yet most people don't know that "tasty sugar" is also a chronic, dose-dependent hepatotoxin. Put another way, sugar is a liver toxin when you eat too much too often. There's a safe threshold for sugar, just like there's a safe threshold for arsenic. But most people in today's society eat WAAAAY above that safe threshold. That's why, in this week's new podcast, I'm gonna tell you what happens when you STOP eating sugar. So if you're eating sugar and you also struggle with: Sugar cravings Low energy/fatigue Fatty liver Vision problems (including vision correction) A weak immune system A bad (or declining) memory Heart disease (or risk of heart disease) Diabetes or pre-diabetes Moodiness, anger, and/or anxiety Brain fog Intestinal issues like gas, bloating, and heartburn Then tune into this episode of Rebel Weight Loss & Lifestyle to learn what happens when you get off the sugar. It might be exactly what you need to finally free yourself from

Your Most-Asked Questions of Summer 2024
17/07/2024 Duración: 35minCode red - For this episode, I'm sharing my answers to the top SIX most asked questions I've been getting this summer. I got these questions from reading comments on my YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok channels. Here are the six questions I'm gonna answer in the episode: "How is Miles?" (Miles is my ex-husband. We were together for ten years.) "Anything new happening for you, Cristy?" How is Hazel?" (Hazel is my Belgian Malinois who turned two a couple months ago. She's featured in a lot of my content and is quite a character.) "Why did you grow out your hair and change the color?" "Why are you competing in bodybuilding again?" "Are you SEEING anyone?" Yep, these are all personal questions about me rather than about the Code Red program. (I've also done podcasts where I answer common Code Red program questions.) And, since so many people seem to wanna know the answers, I'm dedicating this episode to answering them. If knowing the answers interests you, tune in to this episode to hear them! ---- Become

Every day is DAY 1 with Jake Thomas
10/07/2024 Duración: 01h20minA few months ago, Instagram suggested I start following a guy named Jake Thomas. I'd never heard of him, but when I saw that we followed a lot of the same people, ran in the same circles, and had a lot in common, I thought, "Why not?" One thing Jake said that stuck with me was, “Every day is day one.” See, Jake grew up in New Orleans in a suburban family. He appeared “good” on the outside and his family seemed “perfect"...but things were NOT good OR perfect. Having no direction or purpose in his life, and while carrying a lot of suppressed emotional baggage he didn't know what to do with, Jake joined the Marines at age 17, where he found leadership, assertiveness, and mission. But after he left the Marines, he lost all sense of identity. Even working in the oil fields and making plenty of money, he couldn't handle reality and escaped with booze and "pleasurable company." He also got fat and inflamed. His turning point came at age 30, when he finally got fed up and asked himself, “Dude! Where are you going? Wh

FIND OUT IF YOU'RE RIGHT
03/07/2024 Duración: 38minExodus 14 of the Bible includes a famous story everyone’s heard about: The parting of the Red Sea. The Israelites were fleeing captivity and slavery in Egypt at the hands of Pharaoh. With the Egyptian army closing in on them, the Israelites stood at the edge of the Red Sea with nowhere to go. So God told Moses to stretch out his arm to part the waters... BUT the waters didn’t part until the children of Israel TOOK A STEP toward the Red Sea. In the New Testament of the Bible, while Jesus was walking on water, he told Peter to take a step toward him - ON the water - to meet him. These stories remind me that the first step is usually the hardest. (Or, as we say in boxing, the first round is the hardest.) For example, at the half-marathon most of my Coaches and I ran in Jackson Hole, Wyoming this year, that first mile was the hardest. The first step is usually the scariest, too, no matter what you're doing...starting a business, going on a first date, or even starting the Code Red Lifestyle™. I wish more people u
