The 1994-95 season was a memorable one for Nottingham Forest. Frank Clark’s side, who had just been promoted from Division One, took the Premier League by storm, sweeping teams aside with their counter-attacking prowess led by the likes of Stan Collymore, Bryan Roy, Steve Stone and Lars Bohinen. It was a season to remember as Forest mounted a title charge (sound familiar?!) and we tell the story of it all here. 30 years on, Steven Toplis and Tom Newton look back on that season in this 1865 Podcast Special. It was another special night at the City Ground, even if the Reds did well to hold on for a point, albeit against arguably the best team in Europe. Things got off to a flyer with Chris Wood's early strike, and Forest held their own until sub Diogo Jota scored with his first touch. Forest then had to show true grit and resilience (and some great saves from Matz Sels) to earn the point on a night that left players and fans exhausted. It was a brilliant last gasp win for the Reds in a match that had it all - a war of tactical attrition, controversial VAR decisions, one of the greatest saves in modern football history and two late goals pushing the Reds into fourth (FOURTH) position in the Premier League.
