In this high octane episode of Hanging With Apes, the guys crack open the 90th Academy Awards and all of the virtue signaling that took place from host Jimmy Kimmel and a slew of other Oscar award winners and presenters. The conversation then starts to turn toward the overall current state of Hollywood movies being produced and how K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics both feel that the films are more about political messages rather than being quality movies. K. Cartoon then brings up in-depth examples of quality entertainment such as Comedy Central's "South Park" and Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. The Apes conclude the episode with a discussion about a recent article by Abigail Hess for CNBC saying that "32% of millennials would break up with their significant other for a $37,000 raise" and why exactly they think that is.

On this episode of Hanging With Apes the guys host their friend, Vincent Williams, founder of blog site www.criticatxl.com. The conversation starts with their thoughts on Chris Rock's "Tamborine" Netflix Stand-Up Special. As they break down the themes that Chris Rock discussed on his special the guys naturally move on to the recent talk about gun control regarding the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting in Parkland, Florida. K. Cartoon then brings up Mo'Nique's interview on The Breakfast Club and the conversation leads to how her attitude about her Netflix situation parallels Hollywood's hypocrisy when it comes to tackling societal issues. Finally, K. Cartoon shares his thoughts on Marvel's Black Panther.  

On this episode of Hanging With Apes the guys talk about the latest mass shooting that took place in a high school in Parkland, Florida where 17 people were killed and another 14 were wounded. The guys give their views on the gun law debate, share gun violence statistics and analyze how the media handled the shooting. The guys then switch their focus on the NBA All-Star weekend from Fergie's botched national anthem to Laura Ingraham telling Lebron James to "shut up and dribble" after Lebron James commented in an ESPN interview that "Donald Trump doesn't give a f*ck about the people." Finally the guys analyze a Vice News Tonight video called "The #MeToo Effect" and give their take on what can be learned from the movement when it comes to communication. 

In this episode of Hanging With Apes, K. Cartoon starts off the conversation by bringing up a video from Vice News that follows a female-only retreat in Costa Rica that offers women of color a break from white people. In the video a woman by the name of Andrea X, who created Women of Color Healing Retreat in Puerto Viejo, talks about cutting out white people from her life and saying that "they have caused enough damage." Both K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics give their take on the whole situation and the women's perspective. The guys then switch their focus on a gender pay gap study titled "Gender Earnings Gap in the Gig Economy: Evidence from Over a Million Rideshare Drivers." The study was led by 5 economists who examined data from more than 1.8 million drivers and 740 million Uber trips in the United States between January 2015 and March 2017. K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics discuss whether this new information helps or hurts the Feminist movement's arguments on this matter. 

K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics start off this week's episode with their thoughts on the Superbowl. Moreover, they get into which Superbowl ads stood out and discussed the backlash that Dodge received from their Ram Martin Luther King commercial. The guys then give their thoughts on PepsiCo announcing its plan to launch a range of snacks that will be aimed towards women causing a backlash online among women. The conversation starts with the guys discussing President Trump's current twitter feud with Hip-Hop mogul Jay-Z. This was in regards to the rapper's CNN interview where he discusses black employment and then describes Trump as being a "superbug." The guys then switch their focus on the return of the XFL which was a controversial football league founded by WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon. The Apes and Vincent discuss the political undertones in Mr. McMahon's press conference and what this move could mean for the NFL moving forward. Finally, K. Cartoon poses an interesting question to Rx Phonics and Vincent Williams. Are lesbians real? 

In this interesting episode of Hanging With Apes, K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics discuss how race is still a hot topic issue today and the reason why America hasn't been able to move past it. Naturally, the guys point to a video circulating on social media where a chick goes off on a Hispanic girl for saying people of all skin tones are equal referencing a picture posted by a Latina make-up artist showing herself in different shades of skin colors with the word equal written on her chest. Next the guys give their thoughts on the three-day government shutdown where Democrats refused to vote on a continuing resolution to fund the government that didn't include extending DACA. Finally, the Apes talk about Stand-up comedian Mo'Nique's call for a Netflix boycott due to her being offered $500,000 to do a comedy special. 

On this episode of Hanging With Apes the guys start by talking about President Trump's "Shithole Countries" comment which he had allegedly uttered according to Sen. Dick Durbin (D. Ill.) while meeting with a bipartisan group of lawmakers to discuss DACA. This in turn had the media in a frenzy with some news outlets like CNN not censoring the word while on air. Moreover, this was the motivating factor that sparked protests all over the country on MLK Day. The guys then switch their focus on the latest sexual allegation targeting comedian Aziz Anzari in which a 23 year old woman recounted a date with Ansari that she says turned sour when they went back to his apartment after dinner. The woman goes on to say that Anzari was persistent in trying to undress her and to initiate sex but vaguely explains the whole situation. The guys then discussed the Golden Globes which displayed Hollywood's protest (by wearing black attire to the award show) on sexual harassment/assault in the entertainment industry. On the event, Oprah Winfrey then accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement award and had an acceptance speech that sparked NBC to name her the future president of the United States. K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics analyze it all and give their take on the whole night and the reactions people had on social media which had #timesup and #metoo trending on twitter. K. On the first Hanging With Apes episode of 2018 K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics first break down Dave Chappelle's "Equanimity" & "The Bird Revelation" stand-up comedy specials. The specials mark Chappelle's third and fourth with Netflix and Dave Chappelle goes on to show his genius and a great start for comedy in 2018. Dave Chappelle had a lot of content including the infamous "brittle ass spirit" regarding a victim of Louis CK's alleged sexual misconduct situation. Furthermore, Chappelle's jokes also gravitated towards Trump and naturally the conversation then had the apes tilt to Donald Trump's 2017 and how conservative policy was in the forefront of his agenda contrary to his populist attitude. From slashing bureaucracy and adding constitutionalist judges to his foreign policy attitude in the middle east, conservatism surely won in 2017. Cartoon and Rx Phonics sharing their thoughts on the situation with Keaton Jones, a Tennessee boy who's tearful reaction to being bullied was recorded on video by his mom and went viral creating the hashtag #StandWithKeaton and sparking a wave of celebrity support. The guys analyze whether or not personal matters like this should be dealt with in private with your child. The conversation then switches to the FCC's 3-2 vote to repeal net neutrality. K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics take their time to explain what net neutrality is and give their take on whether or not this means it is the end of the internet as we know it. Then K. Cartoon gives his take on George Zimmerman's comments threatening Jay-Z due to unannounced visits to his parents' and uncle's homes to get them on camera for a docuseries that Jay is producing on the life and death of Trayvon Martin. Finally the guys give their review on Eminem's Revival album.  

On this episode of Hanging with Apes K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics have a round-table discussion with fellow Audio Ape member, D.C. The Great, Jungle Studio's chief music engineer, Alex 'Excel' Cruz and Jungle Studio's videographer and music producer, Attila. The guys start the discussion by talking about the Audio Apes' upcoming project, "Till It Hurts." Naturally the discussion switches to Eminem's single "Untouchable" which tackles systematic racism, white privilege and crooked cops. The discussion leads to the comparison of Eminem's new single with the Joyner Lucas single, "I'm Not Racist." If Hip-Hop is a reflection of our society and culture what does that say about the future of the youth? Furthermore, the Hip-Hop culture has drastically changed due to its mass appeal and the guys analyze on whether or not there will be a "rap renaissance" that will bring the culture back to its roots of story telling and deeper substance.

On this episode K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics start the show by analyzing the Supreme Court's decision to let President Trump's travel ban take full effect. This leads the guys to pivot their conversation towards their reactions on the tax reform bill that was recently passed by the senate. Is it too soon to be critical of this plan or is Hollywood's negative reaction warranted? Next the guys talk about how Roy Moore is shockingly surviving the sexual misconduct allegation scandal. K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics explain why voters might not be so easily swayed from this scandal and why democrats are facing an identity crisis. Finally, the guys end the show by giving their thoughts about rapper Post Malone's scandalous comments about Hip-Hop and the reactions it got.

This sparked a discussion on whether race was an indication on why Chicago has changed for the worst or if culture was the reason why. The discussion sparked a conversation on today's culture and why people have become less tolerant of other people's views. The guys then discuss how this has affected the content creativity of media outlets, such as comedy, for the worst. Finally, K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics give advice to the 16 year old versions of themselves.

The guys then move on and talk about the situation regarding Donald Trump blasting LaVar Ball and calling him "ungrateful" after saving his son from Chinese Prison. Finally K. Kelley, had a history of domestic violence situations including one while serving in the Air Force. Could gun laws have changed the outcome of this situation? Is the heavy politicizing of this situation from both the right and the left blurring what the real issues are? What can we do as a society to make a change for the better?
