    In this high octane episode of Hanging With Apes, the guys crack open the 90th Academy Awards and all of the virtue signaling that took place from host Jimmy Kimmel and a slew of other Oscar award winners and presenters. The conversation then starts to turn toward the overall current state of Hollywood movies being produced and how K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics both feel that the films are more about political messages rather than being quality movies. K. Cartoon then brings up in-depth examples of quality entertainment such as Comedy Central's "South Park" and Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. The Apes conclude the episode with a discussion about a recent article by Abigail Hess for CNBC saying that "32% of millennials would break up with their significant other for a $37,000 raise" and why exactly they think that is.

In the video a woman by the name of Andrea X, who created Women of Color Healing Retreat in Puerto Viejo, talks about cutting out white people from her life and saying that "they have caused enough damage." Both K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics give their take on the whole situation and the women's perspective. The guys then switch their focus on a gender pay gap study titled "Gender Earnings Gap in the Gig Economy: Evidence from Over a Million Rideshare Drivers." The study was led by 5 economists who examined data from more than 1.8 million drivers and 740 million Uber trips in the United States between January 2015 and March 2017. K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics discuss whether this new information helps or hurts the Feminist movement's arguments on this matter.

Naturally, the guys point to a video circulating on social media where a chick goes off on a Hispanic girl for saying people of all skin tones are equal referencing a picture posted by a Latina make-up artist showing herself in different shades of skin colors with the word equal written on her chest. Next the guys give their thoughts on the three-day government shutdown where Democrats refused to vote on a continuing resolution to fund the government that didn't include extending DACA. Finally, the Apes talk about Stand-up comedian Mo'Nique's call for a Netflix boycott due to her being offered $500,000 to do a comedy special.

Ill.) while meeting with a bipartisan group of lawmakers to discuss DACA. This in turn had the media in a frenzy with some news outlets like CNN not censoring the word while on air. Moreover, this was the motivating factor that sparked protests all over the country on MLK Day. The guys then switch their focus on the latest sexual allegation targeting comedian Aziz Anzari in which a 23 year old woman recounted a date with Ansari that she says turned sour when they went back to his apartment after dinner. The woman goes on to say that Anzari was persistent in trying to undress her and to initiate sex but vaguely explains the whole situation.     On the first Hanging With Apes episode of 2018 K. Cartoon and Rx Phonics first break down Dave Chappelle's "Equanimity" & "The Bird Revelation" stand-up comedy specials. The specials mark Chappelle's third and fourth with Netflix and Dave Chappelle goes on to show his genius and a great start for comedy in 2018. Dave Chappelle had a lot of content including the infamous "brittle ass spirit" regarding a victim of Louis CK's alleged sexual misconduct situation. Furthermore, Chappelle's jokes also gravitated towards Trump and naturally the conversation then had the apes tilt to Donald Trump's 2017 and how conservative policy was in the forefront of his agenda contrary to his populist attitude.
