Which is why Mallory Majcher, our Head of Marketing at I Heart My Life is taking over the podcast to share her tips for creating an amazing content strategy. The best way to think about your content strategy is within the boundaries of objectives. Before you ever start working on content you should have clear goals in mind for how you want to move your potential customer through their journey with you. What does this look like? Take stock of your key performance indicators, determine which ones are important to you and your brand and where you want to focus. It is often a daunting task to touch every single platform, so focus on the ones that are sure to put you in front of your target audience. Track your numbers, figure out who your ideal client or target audience is, and then start building out your strategy. Now, this stra

What does it take to be a high-performing, super successful athlete? (and why does it matter to business owners?) The best person to ask or to model is Michael Jordan. James and I recently watched The Last Dance, the documentary following the Chicago Bulls’ '97-'98 season. There were so many amazing moments in this documentary and there are so many similarities between being a high-level athlete and a high-performing business owner. As I was watching the documentary, I literally had a notebook and pen out and was taking notes throughout. One of the first things that I noticed about Michael’s character and his drive was his ability and desire to do things himself. He took on the pressure, he took on the responsibility, he took on every aspect of the team’s performance and made himself the focus of that energy. Mostly because he knew that he could carry the load. … but here’s the thing about taking everything on yourself, you can’t do it alone. Even Michael had to rely on his team to win the games which he lea

The tidiness of your house reflects the tidiness of your mind. This isn’t a new concept but Rose Lounsbury has experienced this to an amazing degree. After having her triplets, Rose knew she had to make a change in how she organized her home. Fast-forward to today, she has since helped thousands of others to recognize why they hold onto things and how to start letting them go. When she came to I Heart My Life, she already had a pretty good foot forward on building and growing her business, but the mindset shifts she has seen has opened the door to even greater success. One of the biggest things that she has moved past in her time as an entrepreneur is recognizing fear for what it is and working through the emotion to better understand her next moves. She used to envision her fear as a ball that she dropped away from her, but now she processes the emotion to understand what her mind, heart, and body are telling her. It is truly amazing to think that both Rose and I help women achieve very sim

This is why I wanted to have a few of the ladies who attended our I Heart Money Virtual Workshop on the show to share how they have begun to transform their lives. When you learn what a lack mindset truly is and the small shifts that you can make to live in an abundance mindset instead, you’ll see immense change in your life. Each of these ladies has an amazing story of transformation and success and it all started with their money mindset. Planning creates freedom. I know that this sounds completely insane, but I’ve found over the years that this phrase is completely true. When you have a plan you have a basis to work with and then can pivot from there. That being said, your business plan is one of the most important aspects of your business, especially in trying times. You need to know your numbers, understand how you reached them, and plan on how to keep them going. That is where your business plan comes in. If you don’t know how you got to your first $2k month, $5k month, $10k month, how can you replicate it? This is why you need to know your numbers. Once you know where your sales are coming from and what programs people are investing in, you can start looking at the content you need to create to sell more. Your content should always flow around whatever it is that you’re selling. So your emails, social posts, podcast episodes, whatever your content strategy is, should all end with the same message… buy this one thing. After you’ve looked a

You are the key to your own growth. How does that statement make you feel? What thoughts come up? Your immediate thoughts and feelings surrounding this statement do not have to be your reality. James Williams is a High Performance Coach and is dedicated to the study of growth mindset. As you move towards the next level of your business and look at scaling, you will likely experience feelings of fear and excitement. Those two particular emotions are very closely related however and one will push you forward while the other will pull you back. James dives into the neural pathways that are formed in our brains as we create habits of thought and expression. He then shares how you can reprogram your brain to view the world with less fear and more excitement. We have so little time on this Earth, but if you want to take back more of it, then you need to start practicing the ability to stay present in the moment. The past has already occurred and you should learn from it, and the future isn’t here yet. Your future i

I’ve said it before and I have no doubt that I’ll say it again, you need to have a good relationship with the sales process to move your business forward. So many of the women that I work with are scared to sell, they’re scared to ask for business, or they’re reticent about the process, too concerned with being “sales-y.” Here’s the deal, nothing happens in your business until a sale is made. It doesn’t matter if you have put together the most amazing course ever if you don’t sell a single unit, did you impact anyone? That being said, one of the most important topics that we cover with our clients at I Heart My Life is their relationship with sales. Many of us have stories that we tell ourselves about sales and those stories oftentimes stem from the money stories that we have. Which is why it is so important that you clear about your thoughts and feelings around this business necessity. Once you’re clear on your mindset regarding sales calls, the next question to ask yourself is, are you asking people to book

When you consider the actions you take and the mindset that you show up with, would you identify yourself as a victim? I’m sure many of us wouldn’t, but if you’re showing up with negative energy, you’re likely showing up as a victim. Here’s the thing. The situations we find ourselves in don’t always go the way we think or plan for. However it’s the way in which we respond to those situations that determines our overall mentality. I wanted to dive into this a bit because no matter the time that we’re in, we are still responsible for our own mindset and how it affects our reality. So, here are some things for you to consider as you journal about this topic. Do you blame others for things when they don’t go your way? Do you find yourself complaining about everything? Are you a glass half full or half empty type of gal? Listen in as I ask several questions to determine if you are sitting in your victim-hood. If you do find that these questions have unexpected answers, then listen to the end. I don’t want you to

I recently had the chance to sit down with a friend of mine, Tobi Fairley, on Instagram TV and talk about… money. Tobi and I believe many of the same things about money and the conversation we had was amazing. I ask this all the time but what stories are you telling yourself about money? Now take a moment and think about where that story came from. Is this belief something that rings true for you? Or is it something that you’ve been taught by others in your life? Those questions are the ones I really want you to consider as you think and talk about money. Tobi and I dive deep into this topic because it is truly an important one. If you are looking to build a business to support the life of your dreams, but believe that successful people are evil, you will never become successful. Tobi was an amazing host for this topic and I know that her audience gained so much from our discussion, but what about you? After you listen, take some time to journal about these questions to see what comes up for you. If your mone

Do you ever feel like you’re traveling the road of entrepreneurship on your own? Your friends don’t understand. Your family supports you but they don’t “get” the drive and passion you have that continues to push you every day. This is why it is so important to join a community of like-minded individuals who understand your struggles and achievements. You are not meant to do this alone! Community has become a huge part of the I Heart My Life movement and it has been so impactful in my own life and development. I still remember the first time I ever joined a community of entrepreneurs and the massive shifts that they helped me make in my business. I joined Marie Forleo’s B-School and though the community was huge, it was exactly what I needed. Every day I got to interact with others who were in the exact same place that I was in my business. That first taste of community pushed me to join a smaller community where I created even deeper friendships and business connections. You see, joining group programs and m

Are you meant to be a coach? Have you seen the term floating around the interwebs and wondered if that was the route you should take? I’ve put together a list of things that you need to consider before starting a coaching business to be sure that you will be successful. There is a very important question you need to ask yourself before you ever consider a coaching business. Do you love to teach? Coaches are teaching and guiding others constantly, so you have to have a heart of service. This doesn’t mean you want to be a teacher, only that you find fulfillment in helping others learn. If you’ve felt the pull or the call toward teaching, the next question is how will you help your clients? What topics or concepts do you have an expertise in, but that also lights you up when you talk about it? What could you talk about all day long, every single day, and still be excited to wake up and share more about it? Because you can’t coach in every aspect of business or life. You can’t be an expert in everything. Even bus

I’m sharing my top tips on discovering and transforming your money story AND how to take massive action to reach your goals. Have you ever heard of that term … “money story?” It wasn’t something I learned about until after I started my entrepreneurial journey, but it was something that hit very close to home. Your money stories are the negative and false things you tell yourself about money. Oftentimes these stories are handed down to us through generations of belief. We are conditioned through other’s experiences to view money in a certain way. But what if I told you that YOU are the only one responsible for your story? First, you have to understand which money stories you’re telling yourself and with a quick exercise you can easily find these out. I want you to think about someone you know who is really successful.
