  • Work/Life Alignment

    14/02/2023 Duración: 25min

I want to propose an alternative to work/life balance. What if we worked towards work/life alignment instead? I don’t know about you, but I cringe when I hear the term “work/life balance.” The more we try to achieve it, the worse we feel about ourselves. For something to be balanced, it has to be perfectly matched on both sides, and I just don’t think that’s realistic when it comes to work and life. That’s why I prefer to think of getting my work and life aligned. In this episode, I’m talking about the difference between balance and alignment and why I think one makes more sense than the other when it comes to our work and lives. If you feel defeated constantly trying to find the perfect balance, I feel you, and I’m here to give you permission to stop. All show notes are available at  https://katrinaubellmd.com/podcast!!Resources Mentioned:Free Resources on My Website: katrinaubellmd.com/resourcesLeave a Review of My Book: https://a.co/d/4BwGZ6vLeave an Amazon review for my book, How to Lose Weight for the La

  • Blazing New Neural Pathways

    20/12/2022 Duración: 28min

Why is it so hard to break old habits and create new ones?Really it comes down to the science behind how your brain works. The more you think a certain thought, the more you strengthen that neural pathway in your brain, and the easier it becomes to think that thought again. In this episode, we’re talking about the challenges of blazing new neural pathways alone vs. with help. I have quite a story for you to illustrate my point that involves a very chaotic family ski trip and a lot of learning curves. If you want to learn how to effectively change habits or create new ones, this episode is for you. All show notes are available at  https://katrinaubellmd.com/podcast!!Resources Mentioned:Weight Loss for Doctors Only: katrinaubellmd.com/infoLeave a Review of My Book: https://a.co/d/4BwGZ6vkatrinaubellmd.com/info

Do you struggle to spend money on yourself?Whenever the Weight Loss for Doctors Only program opens up, I hear from women physicians who are interested in it but can’t bring themselves to sign up. They want results, they know it would help them, but they just can’t do it. I want to explore why we struggle so much to invest in ourselves. As a doctor, you are highly influential in other people’s lives, so it’s logical that when you are at your best physically and mentally, you are better able to positively influence the lives that you touch. If investing in yourself is the way to achieve that, isn’t it the best thing to do? In this episode, I'm teaching you how to reframe your thinking about investing in yourself and sharing an example from my life of a time I almost talked myself out of investing in myself. If you feel guilty about spending money on yourself, this is for you. All show notes are available at  https://katrinaubellmd.com/podcast!!Resources Mentioned:Leave a Review of My Book: https://a.co/d/4
